MESSAGE FROM MR. KROTT
Dear Pleasant Valley Students and Families,
As the 2020-2021 school year winds down, I reflect on all of the challenges we have faced. From starting at two different schools, moving to a hybrid model, going full virtual, moving back to hybrid, then finally moving all students back to full face-to-face instruction at Pleasant Valley, it is needless to say that our school year was like none other. Here's hoping that the 2021-2022 school year brings more "normal" back. I'd like to thank the students, teachers, staff and all our Pleasant Valley families for their patience and understanding throughout these difficult times. A lot was asked of everyone and even through all of the challenges, we have been able to celebrate a number of successes as well.
I'd like to wish all of our mothers a safe and happy Mother's Day on May 9th. Not all Superheroes wear capes. Mothers are definitely Superheroes!
This month's newsletter contains information on 5th grade recognition, Student Council events, PTA elections, upcoming summer programs and other important information. If you have any questions, please contact the office.
Respectfully,
Kenneth Krott
Principal, Pleasant Valley Elementary

One District, One Book
Students have been listening to the story "The Adventures of a South Pole Pig" daily, which is this year's selection for "One District, One Book." Students can answer trivia questions about the book daily for a chance to win their own books. Students place answers to the trivia questions into bins and names are pulled each day.
At the end of the month, students will bring home a project relating to their book. After learning about your child's project, please complete a brief online survey to win a book. Go to https://www.aasdcat.com/, click parent resources, click Title I, then April Parent and Family Engagement - The South Pole Pig.

We thank all of them for their hard work and dedication for making Pleasant Valley the best school in the District (in our opinion!!). It takes a big heart to shape little minds and Pleasant Valley teachers and staff consistently show how much they care for their students and the school.
