St. Columba's Primary School
NEWSLETTER | TERM 2 | WEEK 1 | 22 APRIL 2021
God of love and liberty, we bring our thanks this day for the peace and security we enjoy, which was won for us through the courage and devotion of those who gave their lives in time of war. We pray that their labour and sacrifice may not be in vain, but that their spirit may live on in us and in generations to come. That the liberty, truth and justice which they sought to preserve may be seen and known in all the nations upon earth. This we pray in the name of the one who gave his life for the sake of the world, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen
From the Principal
Dear St Columba’s school community,
Welcome back to school and to Term 2. I trust you and your children had a restful holiday and that you are re-energised. Our staff were excited to see the children on Tuesday and are already back into their teaching and learning routine.
Our Kindy children and teachers say a huge '"Thank you!" to the Mitchell family for the marvellous boat they have purchased, up-cycled and donated to the Kindy playground. The children have life vests, nets and fishing rods for all their high sea adventures!
We congratulation our Assistant Principal, Alison, on her marriage to Edward during the holidays. She will now be using the name Mrs Brine. We wish them both a lifetime of happiness together.
We look forward to great term.
God Bless
Rebecca Clarke

Welcome back
Welcome back everyone for Term 2.
I hope everyone has recharged over the holidays ready for a long Term 2.
Thank you to everyone who supported the Peter Rabbit 2 Movie. It was a great success with 121 tickets sold. We appreciate the turnout.
There was an awesome support for the Hot Cross Buns, 272 packs were sold. The money raised from these events will go towards the Playground upgrades.
The Nature Playground at Pre Primary is under way and should be completed in approximately three weeks. We will be very excited to see the end result and the children's faces. This project is being funded by the P&F and is costing around $47,000, which is from the P&F Levy and fund raising from last year eg, Ninja Warrior Course, Tea Towels, Cards that Count, movie and raffle. It's always great to see where the funds go to.
The P&F's first gathering this term is for our Early Learning Years both Kindy classes and Pre Primary classes, next Wednesday 28th April, straight after morning drop off. We are having a coffee gathering for parents to meet each other and welcome new families to the school. Please come along to the undercover area after your children are in class and say hello.
Our next event is the Mothers' Day Breakfast. This is an opportunity to see mums or carers we don't get to see often.
We have many events coming up during the year ahead and will be wanting people to volunteer to go on committee's to help with the organisation. More minds make it easier. We will be doing a Colour Run, a Fete in Term 4 and the Retro Bingo in Term 3.
If anyone would like to put their hand up to go on any of these committee's please email me at ltulett@hotmail.com with details of which event you are interested in.
More details to come.
Our next P&F meeting is on Tuesday, 27th April. We look forward to seeing as many people as possible.
Cheers
