Brought to you by the Shepard Elementary PTA
From our Principal
Dear Shepard Families,
We are very excited about our “Giving Tree” in the front office. We are collecting items for families in need as well as assisting in a Toy Drive for Meadows Elementary School. I have seen many of our sweet children dash into the front office and snatch a tag off the tree. Our children are so king and giving, I know that attitude starts at home, and I love seeing it carry over to school and our “Giving Tree.” We look forward to collecting and delivering the items you choose to give.
Thank you for sharing these sweet kids with us.
Sincerely,
Kristin Bishop

Food Drive Stats
Shepard collected: 1,065 cans We met our goal!! YAY!
Plano ISD collected: 114,224 cans
Here’s some fun math to demonstrate what this amount of food collected means in real numbers:
5.5 CANS FEED ONE PERSON FOR ONE DAY, SO . . .
114,224 CANS COLLECTED =
ONE PERSON COULD EAT FOR 20,768 DAYS (or almost 57 YEARS); or
ONE FAMILY OF 4 COULD EAT FOR 5,192 DAYS (or over 14 YEARS): or
173 FAMILIES OF 4 WILL EAT FOR 30 DAYS =
So, PISD’S donations will feed about 692 people for 30 days!
