Crazy For Kindness PTO Fundraiser

We kicked off our big fundraiser Friday, and the kids are so excited!!! We gave them their first goal of getting registered and logging 1 Act of Kindness (AOK) by Monday, February 8th. If they complete this goal, they will receive a kindness coin!

The handout that came home Tuesday, includes all the instructions on how to get registered, along with a link to a video that explains a little about Raise Craze (the company that is hosting our fundraiser) and how our fundraiser works.

At the end of the video it shows you how to get registered. See the handout below for more details.

MISD Update: Inclement Weather and Student Learning Next Week

McKinney ISD Parents and Guardians,

Please read this important information regarding inclement winter weather that has been forecast for next week and MISD’s plan for instruction if it becomes necessary to cancel school.

• Monday, February 15, is designated as a student holiday/teacher work day on the MISD academic calendar. Schools and offices will be closed, and there will be no in-person or virtual instruction that day.

• Tuesday, February 16, has been designated as an asynchronous (at-home) learning day on the MISD academic calendar. There will be no on-campus instruction on Tuesday. Rather, all MISD students will receive classroom assignments through SeeSaw or Canvas and will complete the assignments independently at home.

If winter weather forces MISD to close school on Wednesday (2/17), Thursday (2/18) or Friday (2/19) next week, all students will move to online, asynchronous learning from home on the days that schools are closed. Students will receive classroom assignments through SeeSaw or Canvas and complete the assignments independently.

MISD will communicate any closure as early as possible through its normal channels (MISD homepage, Facebook, SchoolMessenger, etc.).

McKinney ISD Offering Curbside Grab-and-Go Meals

We are pleased to announce free curbside grab-and-go meals will be available at Finch Elementary on the dates below. Please include this information in your principal newsletter going out this week, as this coming Monday, February 1st, will be one of these days.

Breakfast 7:30 AM – 8:30 AM (Breakfast pickup will also include that day’s lunch. Parents can instead come just for lunch at lunchtime if desired.)

Pick up in driveway off Graham St.

These meals are free, but parents will need to present either a valid student ID number, student name, or other proof they are picking up for a student 18 years old or younger.

Important Reminders From Our Nurse

As we continue our school year in 2021 please keep in mind our COVID-19 guidelines. I appreciate everything you do to keep our students healthy!

Please screen your student daily, prior to arriving on campus, for any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 including:

Feeling Feverish or Fever (100.0 or greater)

Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing


Fatigue (Excessively tired)

Significant muscle or body aches


Loss of taste or smell

Sore throat


If your student has a COVID-19 test or has symptoms of COVID or has contact with someone who has tested positive please keep them at home and contact Nurse Megan.

Just a reminder that responses to emails send after school hours may not be returned until the next school day. The process to switch a student into virtual learning for an extended absence is a process that may take up to a day to complete.

McClure 2020-2021 Student Handbook
