Principal's Message
Dear St. Maria Goretti Catholic School Families,
Thank you to everyone who donated to North Texas Giving Day. We raised $42,175! It was a wonderful evening of fellowship highlighted by the outstanding talent show coordinated by Mrs. Richards. We have very talented students and teachers!
Kountry Karnival weekend is next weekend, October 2nd and 3rd! Students may wear the KK t-shirt everyday this week except Wednesday. The last day to pre-order your food is Thursday, Sept. 30th. Pre-ordering your food ensures you get to enjoy the foods you would like. There will be limited quantities to purchase the day of KK. The class with the most preorders will win a Chick-fil-A lunch party.
October 1st is the Blessing of the Pets at 11:00 AM in the back field. Parents are welcome to bring their pets up for a blessing. If you are unable to bring your pet, you may send a photo to be blessed. It is an early dismissal day at 12:10PM. Parents who attend may check their child out after the pet blessing. You will be required to go to the front office and sign them out. Do not take your child from the blessing or enter the school through the back doors. Thank you for your corporation.
The Dinner Dance planning committee is looking for a few more parents to help plan this fun event. If you would like to join them, please contact Laura Perez at development@smgschool.org.
We ask that you continue to keep our students, teachers, staff, and priests in your prayers.
St. Maria Goretti, Pray for Us!
Blessings,
Amy Utendorf, M.Ed.
Principal

North Texas Giving Day - THANK YOU!
North Texas Giving Day is an 18-hour online giving event designed to empower every person to give back to their community by supporting local nonprofits and causes they care about in one easy-to-use platform.
Students greeted parents in carline Thursday with flyers to promote North Texas Giving Day. We eagerly watched the web site as donations totaled $24,000 by noon! Mrs. Perez and Mrs. Richards helped organize a talent show to entertain us during the evening NTGD Watch Party. Anticipation was high as we watched the donation numbers creep closer and closer to our goal.
Funds raised this year will help several campus improvement projects including continued updates to our school security systems, continued development of our Outdoor Learning Center & Garden, Curriculum Resources, and equipment replacement. We are so grateful to our parents, students, parishioners, alumni and faculty for helping us achieve a remarkable total of $42,175!

LAST DAY OF LUNCH SERVICE - Thursday, Sept. 30th
Food For Life will no longer be providing a hot lunch service. Students need to be sure to bring silverware, napkins, their lunch, and a drink to school each day. We will have an option for students who forget their lunch, no students will go hungry.
Our copious water supply has been depleted. Students must come to school with a water bottle (or 2) each day. We hope to have the water fountain station installed soon. Please consider donating a case of water to your child's homeroom.
