Dear Wharton Families,

We have made it to the halfway point of the first trimester! Students were issued progress reports today. Please review your child's progress and reach out to their teacher, if you have questions or concerns.

Our staff is very proud of our students for their dedication and efforts on their IAR testing. Students completed this state assement, which was postponed from last spring.

This week we started the One Book One School initiative. All students and staff are reading The Epic Fail of Arturo Zamora. Each day, during a designated time, teachers stop for a short period and read assinged pages to students. So far this has been a huge hit with students and staff.

As a reminder there wil be no school on Monday in observance of Columbus/Indigenous People's Day.

Anti Bullying Month at Wharton

The students at Wharton will be participating in activities for Anti-Bullying Month this October. Next week, the teachers will be reading a book with their classes called, 'All the Colors We Are: Todos los Colores de Nuestra Piel' and discussing how all humans have their own unique and beautiful skin color. The students will then be coloring a paper person, working to create their own skin tone and designing someone who represents their personality, interests, and culture. This artwork will be displayed in the hallway, the paper persons holding hands together, to symbolize acceptance for all.
