Welborne Word
January 8, 2024, Issue #18
Dear Families,
Happy New Year! The Welborne staff were very excited to be welcoming students back to school yesterday. The return to routine can be both welcome and challenging. Perhaps your student was keen to return to school, excited to see their educators and friends and as a result was ready and waiting at the door when it was time to leave. OR maybe your student had trouble getting out of bed, couldn't remember the morning routine and wasn't sure where their back-pack was. Both are completely normal and rest assured, after a few days, routines will be reestablished and everyone will be back in the groove.
The snow has finally arrived and students were enjoying it. As always, students have been reminded that snow is for playing with on the ground and not for throwing. Students are reminded that once snow leaves their hand their is no way for them to know where it was going to land. Even if they were not aiming to hit someone with the snow, another student could walk in the path of the snow and be injured. Thank you for helping to reinforce this important safety message at home.
At this time, the climbers are closed and students are not permitted to play on them. The reason for this is that the ground under the climbers is frozen and does not provide the cushioning effect that it is intended to.
The weather forecast predicts that the temperatures will be rising again this week. It is very helpful if students have a change of clothes at school and some extra mitts or gloves to wear should they get wet and/or muddy.
If you have any questions, please email us at welba@limestone.on.ca.
Warm regards,
Ms. Fraser, Mrs. Wellwood, and Ms. Hart
