Facts about Blackfriars Theatre

1. It is located in the city of London. 2. In 1600 , Richard Burbage leased the blackfriars to Henry Evans for 21 years for $40 per annum. 3. In 1538 the monastery was closed due to dissolution of the monasteries by King Henry the 8th. 4. The Blackfriars building was the location of the 1529 divorce hearing of the Catherine of Aragon and Henry the 8th. 5. Blackfriars was from the executors of Sir Thomas Cawarden  estate .

In 1608, Richard Burbage took back the lease of the Blackfriars from Evan. 5. Blackfriars had roofs and catered to the wealthy , although commoners were also allowed .
