Our Mission
The mission of the WPS Performing Arts program is to prepare students to be artistically literate citizens and for lifelong engagement in the arts. Through the cyclical artistic process of creating, performing, responding and connecting to and through artistic works, students will become creative, collaborative, and persistent problem solvers in the global community.
Ukulele Curriculum striking a chord!
We are seeing students engaged in understanding music and excited about playing in middle school general music classes. In ten short weeks, students learn to play tablature and chords and arrange and rehearse a piece for performance. Ukulele instruction and playing is flourishing across the country. See this video from Sullivan Middle featuring students Marc Shenette, Jeremy Dela Cruz, and Aaron Williams.
