Thank you for registering for the UGA Mentor Program, and for your interest in recruiting fellow Bulldogs for your organization.
We would like to highlight a few opportunities to engage the next generation of UGA talent!
1. Post jobs and internships on the UGA-specific job and internship board, Handshake
The University of Georgia’s free job posting service will help get your organization’s full-time job, part-time job, and internship opportunities to Georgia’s best & brightest! UGA students are also extremely interested in gaining career-related experience through internships.
2. Attend appropriate career fairs and recruiting events
The UGA Career Center hosts over 15 general and industry-specific recruiting events over the course of the academic year, including recruiting events specifically focused on diversity and inclusion.
3. Educate the campus community about your organization
These two complimentary engagement opportunities can be paired for a high-impact campus visit:
- Employer Breakfast - Meet with the Career Center staff, serving students from every major on campus, to educate those on the front-lines about your organization and opportunities, and gain feedback on the most effective recruiting strategy for your needs and interests.
- UGA Employer of the Day - Table in a high-volume corridor in the Tate Student Center from 11 AM - 1 PM to spread the word to students about your company and opportunities, and build brand recognition.
For more information, please reach out to Associate Director of Employer Relations, Brittany Mulcahey, bvsmith@uga.edu.
4. Give students a first-hand look into your organization and culture
These two complimentary student-facing programs can be instrumental in building your talent pipeline, giving students a first-hand look at your company and allowing them a thorough understanding of your organizational culture and opportunities:
- Intern for a Day - Intern for a Day is a voluntary job shadowing experience that ranges from 1 day to 1 week. Students spend time observing and working with employees to gain an understanding of the culture of the organization and its industry.
- Employer Day of Service - Since many organizations already schedule community service days throughout the year, we encourage you to simply invite UGA students to participate along with you and your team.
