Summer Bulldog Bulletin
Summer 2021
A BIG THANK YOU FROM BOOTH HILL SCHOOL!!!
WOW! What a year!!!
A big good luck to our 4th Graders rising to Perry Hill School. We are proud to send this class of kind, hard-working, bright super stars to Perry Hill. As I told our young learners, I have been bragging about our 4th graders for months...don't make Mrs. Marks a liar! Be kind, work hard, and I cannot wait to see them walk through our halls in their caps and gowns in 2029!
On behalf of the faculty and staff of Booth Hill School, thank you for everything you have done to help make 20-21 a success. We know it was a very difficult year at school and on the homefront. We could not have made it through such a year without your help. Thank you for teaching, encouraging, understanding, and for being patient, flexible and kind.
For your reference, next year's academic calendar (with all early dismissals, holidays, conferences, etc.), summer math and reading activities, supply lists, health information and forms, and summer camp flyers are included below.
The office at Booth Hill School is closed for the summer as of June 23. Feel free to email Mrs. Marks at dmarks@sheltonpublicschools.org with your questions.
Please enjoy and cherish this time with your family. Stay safe and be well.
Teacher assignments will be given out via IC at the end of the summer. We will see our new K - 4 friends back at BHS on Wednesday, Sept. 8th.
Summer Update July 9, 2021:
- Kindergarten Orientation and bus safety day: 9:30 AM on Friday, Sept. 3.
- First day of school: Wednesday, Sept. 8.
- Back to School Night: Tuesday, Sept 28 at 6 PM
- The District-wide calendar with early dismissal, conferences, vacations, and other events can be found on the SPSS website.
Regulations, including mask wearing and class set up (tables vs desks, use of rugs for meetings, etc.) will be established by the Governor. We are required to follow the governor's guidance, but are hoping to be able to conduct business as usual as much as possible.
PTO Kindergarten playdates:
In addition to the activity calendars, students should be practicing their Math & ELA skills on IXL. Login information was sent home with hard copies of the math calendars.
Lazy and rainy summer days are also a good time to just read--fiction, nonfiction, an age-appropriate magazine, even written directions to help build something are all valuable reading resources.
As stated in Nurse Jess's previous communications, any medicine remaining at school after 6/16 had to be destroyed by law. There is no medicine, inhalers, epipens, etc. at school.
