Spring Showcase Planning
Don't forget to send Sam biographical info about you! See examples here.
Please submit the names of students who have committed to attending the showcase next Monday. Keep in mind that we will need more kids this year than last year - 7 kids per level as we will be in 3 separate classrooms this year.
Please submit the names of all learners confirmed on the planning doc below and at this link (per Anthony). Anthony's form must be complete by 3:00pm Friday.
Reminder: 4th Period Parent Invite
Membean Cheating
If you encounter a student or students using the Membean program to cheat on their Membean minutes, please send the letter linked below to the parents. The letter has been approved by Anthony Poullard and Heather Cato.
In addition to the letter, at the end of each six weeks, please compile a list of students who have cheated during that period and then each team lead will submit that list to the appropriate AP. This will be for information only. If the AP has a student on the list that has cheated in other areas, then he/she can use the Membean information to guide an action. If you have a student that is on the list more than one time or has cheated in other areas, then you may certainly write a referral at that point as well as send the letter home.
There will be no reassessment of the minutes for Membean as it is not a major grade.
Please let me know if you have any questions,
Linda

AWW - A Web Whiteboard
This week’s tip features a simple, but powerful online drawing tool. It has the three things I love in a web tool: it’s free, it doesn’t require a login, and it provides a URL. On top of that, it is collaborative – and it works on any online device: a computer or an iPad – even a smart phone!
Getting Started:
- Go to http://awwapp.com/
- Click the “Start drawing” button.
Classroom ideas:
Students could draw:
- a reading reflection
- a scene from a story
Extensions:
- The teacher can collect the students drawings using a digital dropbox created from a Google Form. Click here for instructions.
- In the digital dropbox spreadsheet, the teacher can easily embed each picture into a QR code.Click here for instructions.
Drawing
- Click the Color button and choose the desired color.
- Click the Pencil button to choose the pencil tool (three thickness options), the text tool, or the eraser tool.
- Use your finger to draw on a touch screen device or use the mouse/trackpad to draw on a computer.
Using the Menu
Click the Menu button to:
- Clear the screen
- Invite another person to draw with you via a shared url
- Post your drawing (provides a URL along with other sharing options)
- Save/download your drawing as a .png image
Extensions
- The teacher can collect the students drawings using a digital dropbox created from a Google Form. Click here for instructions.
- In the digital dropbox spreadsheet, the teacher can easily embed each picture into a QR code.Click here for instructions.
Schedule a Learning Walk
Use this optional form to guide your reflection during/after each learning walk.
Master Schedule Survey Due 4:00pm March 11
Hi CHS Fam.,
I am sure you are getting ready to watch the Superbowl! I am pretty excited to see the commercials ;) So this will be short and to the point.
Below is the master schedule survey that I send out around this time each year. Those of you who have been with me know that I read every single response before I start to build this little puzzle, so make sure you add this one to the "to-do" list. I am giving you plenty of time for completion.
Responses due before Spring Break, March 11th at 4:00.
