Helena's Harmonies
By Helena
Theme: Why meeee?!?!?!?!?
In the play A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare, Hermia was the character who never knew who loved her, and WTF was going on. She got who loved her switched around so many times, I could barely keep up. I think that she was instantly sympathetical(able to be sympathetic about), and that is why I picked her.
Avril Lavigne - When You're Gone
When You're Gone
This one part of a song resonates with me,
All I ever wanted was for you to know
Everything I'd do, I'd give my heart and soul
I can hardly breathe I need to feel you here with me
because it perfectly describes Helena's feelings after her breakup with Demetrius. I also really liked this part, because it is so moving. I think Helena would enjoy this song in her playlist.

Gotye - Somebody That I Used To Know (feat. Kimbra) - official video
Someone That I Used To Know
I think this song fits perfectly when she finds out Demetrius loves Hermia, instead of her. She would listen to it, and think that this fits her mood perfectly. This goes along with the first song in her playlist a bit too.
Natalie Imbruglia - Torn
Torn
This would represent when Helena and Hermia are talking. This is the best representation, within the song lyrics:
Nothing's fine, I'm torn
I'm all out of faith
This is how I feel
If Helena had said this when they were arguing, instead of arguing, I think she would have communicated much better.
Nothing's fine, I'm torn
I'm all out of faith
This is how I feel
If Helena had said this when they were arguing, instead of arguing, I think she would have communicated much better.
Katy Perry - Hot N Cold
Hot N Cold
This song literally describes the whole play. I think if all the characters were listening this the whole time, I doubt they would act any different. I think Helena would listen to this song when Demetrius and Lysander are both fawning over her, and she is confused and mad.
Jake Miller - Collide
Collide
This song perfectly wraps up her feelings when she and Demetrius get together at the end of the play. It seems destined to be when they "collide". This would be playing the whole time that they love each other again.
