Staff Meeting

We will have a staff meeting Monday at 3:20 in the media center. All staff members should make plans to attend.

Wes Tuman Benefit Dinner

There will be a fried chicken dinner to support Wes Tuman and his family on October 12 from 4:00-7:00. Tickets can be purchased in the CCHS office.

PLAN

All sophomores will take the PLAN test on Tuesday, October 13. Mr. Oliver will call students down this week to fill out answer sheets. We will also use the Staff Canvas page for the administrator/proctors schedules this year.

Rachel's Challenge

CCHS and CamTech will participate in Rachel's Challenge this year. We will have an assembly on October 14 at 9:30 and a training for the "Friends of Rachel" club that afternoon. Before the assembly, your students should complete the pre-survey at the following link: http://bit.ly/1KDhVR4

Cultural Awareness Training


All certified staff members should complete the NCDPT Online PD Module: Global Awareness, Diversity, and Cultural Sensitivity in the Classroom by October 29. One CEU will be awarded upon completion of the training. Certificates should be sent to Amy Burnham at Central Office. Below are the steps to access the module:

1) log into the my.ncedcloud.org page

2) click NCEES

3) click Professional Development

4) click course search

5) type in 66 or global Awareness, Diversity and Cultural Sympathy in the classroom: self paced

click "Show All" and scroll to find the course you are seeking

Canvas Mobile App

Encourage your students to download the Canvas App on their Apple or Android devices to keep up with their homework, assignments, etc... To search for CCHS, just type in ccsnc.instructure.com.

North Carolina Learning Object Repository (NC LOR)

The North Carolina Learning Object Repository provides an environment for educators to search for, use and share quality educational resources. The content is aligned to the North Carolina Essential Standards and is open to everyone to use. All NC LOR resources have been added to our Canvas and they are available on Schoolnet. I have created a module for NC LOR tutorials on the CCHS Staff Canvas Page.
