STUDENT BRAGGING RIGHTS

Hirings

  • Four Transition Plus students have been hired at Target Field this month

  • Eleven students have interviewed and been selected to participate in the internship hiring process for TreeTrust. While participating in the Tree Trust/YouthBuild program, young people gain hands-on career training, complete high school and earn a paycheck in the process. Students learn employment and leadership skills while helping their community through home construction or tree care.

Congratulations to these students! We look forward to many more in the coming future. We also have many students starting at our 10 job sites where they are gaining a variety of work skills that may lead to gainful employment in the future.

EMPLOYER OF THE MONTH

Waite House

Waite House, a long-standing pillar of the vibrant Phillips Community in South Minneapolis, has been selected as the Employer of the Month. Waite House has two great vocational training options for our students to participate. Students can build their resumes and gain valuable experience while serving the community by working in the Waite House food shelf or the Waite House cafeteria. Thank you Waite House for providing these valuable opportunities for Transition Plus students.

If you know of any employers who would be interested hiring students or groups of students, Transition Plus is always looking for partnerships to expand vocational opportunities.
