Last Week, and a Look Ahead...

This past week was a real whirlwind! The Viking Strong 5K wrapped up, and Koriann's RAF was just perfectly timed. Although I didn't reply to it due to how busy the day was leading up to the weekend, I can't thank everyone enough. The outpouring of support and love was overwhelming, and today's culminating event was the perfect way to end a long journey. You can all be proud, knowing that we helped a bunch of kids heal, we supported one another through a horrible time in the life of the school community, and we will forever be Viking Strong. Make sure you check out the pics below, and also on our Facebook page.

In the meantime, last Tuesday the CL Public Library hosted an event for their local "Imagine, Write and Win" poetry contest. All of the middle school level winners were from Belinda Strebel's 7th grade classroom! Check out the link to the story and pics below! Congrats Belinda and kids! Also on Tuesday, the Bernotas Bands put on an AMAZING performance Tuesday night and then again for all of us on Wednesday morning. Congrats, Viking Bands! Well done!

This week, Spring MAP testing begins on Monday, we are hosting a joint-district BOE meeting here in the gym at 7:00pm on Monday, Teacher Appreciation Week begins with donuts from the PTO, Fishing Club continues, the 8th Grade Tea takes place Wednesday afternoon at 3:15pm in the LMC (hope to see many of you there), we have Open House on Thursday night starting at 6:30pm, two Track meets (Tuesday vs. Marlowe and Thursday @ Parkland), Music in the Parks on Saturday, and Mother's Day on Sunday. All of this in addition to the EXTRAORDINARY teaching and learning taking place! A busy week for sure!

I call upon students, parents, and all Americans to recognize the hard work and dedication of our Nation's teachers and to observe this day and this week by supporting teachers through appropriate activities, events, and programs.

Enjoy your week, everyone! There are special treats planned for you every day this week! You are an incredible group of educators.
