A First Look
Ghetto brothers. A Group that was known for their dedication to political motivation to uplift young Spanish and Black men in the community of the Bronx, NYC.The ghetto brothers emerged in a time when the Black Panther Party and the young Lords were in the slums fighting for the implementation of their Ten-Point Programs (We believe that Black people will not be free until we are able to determine our destiny,We believe that the federal government is responsible and obligated to give every man employment or a guaranteed income, We believe that if the White American businessmen will not give full employment, then the should be taken from the businessmen and placed in the community so that the people of the community can organize and employ all of its people and give a high standard of living).....
The Ghetto Brothers supported the Young Lords in their efforts to provide services to the community and to try and clean it up, so much so that they began to dress up militantly, wearing Black Berets and growing their hair long. When smack was creating big problems in the neighborhoods because of the junkies who would rob, steal and maim to get high, the gangs stepped in and started wiping them out.
The Ghetto Brothers protested the quality of health care at the local hospital, they questioned why there were no jobs or recreation facilities for the youth and spoke out against corrupt politicians.
'If the Ghetto Brothers’ dream comes true, the world will learn that the ‘little people’ wish to be acknowledged; wish to be properly educated in order for them to pass on their knowledge to their children and proudly inform them about their heritage and culture, and be a functioning part of the growth of America. If the Ghetto Brothers’ dream comes true, the ‘little people’ will be ‘little people’ no more, and make their own mark in this world. Listen to the Ghetto Brothers…….and take heed.”

The genre had spread through much of the national in the 2000’s. But hip hop is not only in the United States but it has gone to reach many regions like South Korea, Europe, and even South America. This genre was once an all-black culture and it has now been practiced by Asians, Europeans, and Mexicans.
