Classical Conversations NE Philly
Upcoming Community Day: October 1, 2015
Home-educators striving together to know and make God known!
Morning Prayer
All are welcome to join us in the Journeyman classroom (straight ahead at the top of the stairs) for a time of prayer at 9:00.
Opening Assembly
I will be introducing a new song for Bible memory work at 9:10. The Wong family will officially open morning assembly at 9:15 with prayer, pledges, and a family presentation. Excited to hear from them!
Recess Monitor
The Wong family is also scheduled to serve as recess monitor during the lunch hour, beginning at 12:20. Thanks for serving our community!
Presentations
This week, a suggested presentation is to describe a trip that you have taken. You may use a classroom map to demonstrate your route and describe what you did and saw. We will be focusing on using appropriate volume in presenting- project loudly enough to be heard across the room, but without yelling.
Vote for Your Favorite Fun Day Ideas!
Due to a missing ballot box last week, the vote for the favorite fun days will take place this week! Students and parents are invited to find the ballot box in the foyer and vote for your top three fun days.
- Pajama Day
- Pi/Pie Day
- Music Day
- Talk-like-a-pirate Day
- Game Day
- Stuffed Animal Day
- Crazy Hat/Hair Day
- Adopt-an-accent Day
- Costume Day
- Share-a-note Day
If you have an idea you would like included, please let me know before 8pm on Wednesday. May the best fun days win!
Friendly Reminder on Behalf of Hungry Essentials' Siblings
Just a reminder that it is a good idea to pack an extra snack for children attending afternoon sibling club during Essentials (no tree nuts, please!).

The Time for Tin Whistle is Approaching!
Our fine arts segment using the orchestral instrument of the tin whistle will begin on Week 7/October 22. If you have not already done so, please be sure that you have tin whistles for each of your Foundations students. They may be purchased directly from Classical Conversations, or another retailer, but they must be in the key of D.

A Few Words of Encouragement
I often get a little teary when I hear this song. I look back on many of my first years as a home-educating mom as the "survival years." At just the right time, God directed us to Classical Conversations of NE Philly, and our family entered a new season in our homeschooling journey. Not that our educational endeavors are without struggle, but our effort has found a focus and our hearts have found encouragement in this wonderful community that the Lord has provided in all of you.
I remember this song playing on the radio as we drove to our first CC community day. I remember it with thankfulness for the rich resources He has given us, not just in the task of raising these precious souls He has placed in our care, but for all of life, as we grow to know Him and are privileged to make Him known.
"His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence," -I Peter 1:3
