MAP Testing Information
Fall Assessment
Happy weekend Pegasus families!
My name is Laura Smith and I am the assistant principal of the middle school. I wanted to reach out this weekend to give you some important information about MAP testing next week.
MAP testing is a great tool to see how students grow throughout the school year. The test is very important as it informs our teachers' instruction. This test also plays a role in course placement for subsequent school years.
MAP Testing Dates
MAP testing will occur on Tuesday, August 30th and Wednesday August, 31st. Math will be tested on the 30th and ELA will be tested on the 31st.
How can students prepare?
Students can:
- make sure they bring a charged Chromebook and their charger
- complete the device readiness check linked at the bottom of this newsletter on their Chromebook. If the device is not ready, do not worry. Please see a teacher on Monday for assistance. We will work to resolve any issues prior to testing day.
- do their best not to be absent, but stay home if feeling ill (We will have make-up testing, but students will miss time in their major to complete it)
- eat a good breakfast at home or at school on both mornings of MAP testing
- read over with their family the attached brochure to answer any other questions about MAP
- take a MAP practice test (linked below)
- go to their homeroom teacher's class on Tuesday and Wednesday. If you do not know your homeroom teacher, please make sure to ask on Monday.
- give it their best!!!
At School of the Arts, we want all of our students to do their best. Have a restful weekend and we will see your student on Monday!
