A Message from the Principal

March 28, 2022

Dear Holy Family Catholic Community,

Big picture

Lent is a prayerful time at HFCS. Our 8th graders reverently lead the school through the Stations of the Cross every Friday during Lent at 2:30 in the church, parents are welcome, please join us.

At Monday Morning Prayer this morning we had two inspiring visitors who spoke with the students about their service to the community in preparation for two Lenten school service projects. Lieutenant Colonel Brian Kriss, also known as Joette and Ellie Kriss’ dad, spoke to the students about his service to our country as an Airforce Pilot. He talked about leadership and military life in order to help our students understand how meaningful their letters of encouragement will be to his Airforce group. We were also happy to have Mrs. Laura Michaelides, President of our Saint Vincent De Paul Society, speak to the students about writing Easter cards to the recipients of the Easter baskets of food that SVdP will be delivering to those in need on Saturday, April 9. Please call Tony and Lucy Blanco at 817-249-2884 if you would like to help pack and deliver the baskets.

Good news about our extended Easter weekend! We will be able to enjoy April 18 and 19 as an extended Easter holiday because the February 23rd and 24th inclement weather days have been forgiven by the Texas Conference of Catholic Bishops – Education.

Lenten blessings,

Ann Walters

Spirit Games - We're Back!

Spirit Games is an annual youth-day, held at Nolan Catholic High School, where we encourage all ages to come out, worship, and celebrate life. Spirit Games is known to have some amazing events! New this year is a BBQ Cook-off! The Spirit Games will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2022.

We begin the day with an outdoor Mass at 11:00am, followed by lots of fun and games, and conclude with an inspirational message. It is one of the few events each year that brings the youth of the Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth all together.

Watch the Hornet Herald for the link to register.

Parent Volunteers will be needed to help work the HF booth. Watch for a sign-up genius to volunteer.
