About Martin Luther King Jr
Born: January 15,1929 in Atlanta Georgia. Assassinated: April 4,1968 Martin Luther King Jr fought for civil rights. He thought that just because someone had a different colored skin does not mean that they are different. His dream was that his children would not have to be judged by the color of their skin but by their character.
Achievements
- Won Nobel Peace Prize for Best Spoken Word
- Was named Time Magazine's "Man of the Year."
His Life
He was married to Coretta Scott. They had 4 children together. Yolanda Denise, Martin Luther III,and Dexter Scott. Bernice Albertine. When he was 5 years old he started to attend school. He went to Yonge Street Elementary School in Atlanta, David T. Howard Elementary School, Atlanta University Laboratory School and Booker T. Washington High School.
