Week in Review
The weather is starting to cool off and this week sped by. For the first time in the school's history we dedicated an entire week in October to meeting for early intervention conferences. We hope those of you who met with our teachers this week found value in the conversations and plans were put in place to create successful outcomes.
Next week is a big one on campus. Monday, we welcome the Arts Education Project team from the Visual and Performing Arts department onto campus for 1/2 day arts lessons for all of our students. This will allow our teachers to collaborate in Professional Learning Communities during the day. The focus for our staff will be early interventions and learning contracts. On Wednesday, our School Site Council will meet again to approve our Comprehensive School Safety Plan. This document outlines policies such as child abuse reporting, disaster preparedness, suspension/expulsions, etc. The meeting will be held at 1PM in room 3. All families are welcome to attend.
Congratulations to our PTA who successfully held board elections on Wednesday this week. Their first order of business now is organizing a community-wide favorite event known as Trunk or Treat. Stay tuned for more details.

Federal Impact Aid Survey
Federal Impact Aid Surveys were sent in the mail this week to any families who did not complete the form online during registration. It is crucially important for all families to fill out the form and return it either to the office or using the self-addressed stamped envelope included in the mailing. The Federal Impact Aid Survey helps SDUSD receive adequate funding from the Federal Government by identifying additional sources of funding that students may qualify for based on where they live. If you have any questions regarding the form, please contact Sarah Kidder at the SDUSD Impact Aid Office.
Join our PTA
Our Fletcher Elementary Parent Teacher Association is actively seeking new members to get involved with providing our students with an even better school experience. The PTA uses membership dues and donations to organize school carnivals, provide teachers with mini grants, and campus beautification projects. If that sounds like something you'd be into, contact Jen Boucek at jennifer.aahl@gmail.com.
Student of the Week - Muadh
Our Student of the Week for is Muadh in Mrs. Wilson's 1st Grade Class. He is a great listener and is working hard on his writing in class. Muadh also helps keep things organized and put away in the classroom. He always helps his friends if they don't understand or remember the directions. Way to go, Muadh! Thank you for being a phenomenal Falcon!
Sign Up for Weekly COVID Testing on Campus
Weekly voluntary COVID screenings resumed this week and will continue to take place weekly on Monday mornings. The more students we have signed up for the screenings, the sooner we can identify symptomatic and asymptomatic cases to reduce community spread.
If you signed up last year, you must sign up again.
