Principal's Message
Dear Holliman Families,
As we celebrate the dawn of a new lunar cycle, I wanted to take a moment to extend my warmest wishes to all of our families observing the Chinese Lunar New Year.
The Lunar New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, is a time of renewal, reflection, and joyous celebration for millions around the world. It's a time to come together with loved ones, honor traditions, and embrace the spirit of hope for the year ahead.
At Holliman, we cherish the diversity of our community and recognize the significance of cultural celebrations like the Chinese New Year. This festive occasion serves as a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn about different cultures, customs, and traditions, fostering a sense of understanding and appreciation for our global community.
As we embark on this new lunar year, may it bring you and your family abundant happiness, prosperity, and good fortune. May the Year of the dragon be filled with love, laughter, and endless blessings for each and every one of you.
On behalf of the entire staff at Holliman, I wish you a Happy Chinese Lunar New Year
Sincerely,
Mrs. Cabana

Late Arrivals and Early Dismissals
We have seen an uptick in late arrivals and early dismissals. The main office is a very busy place and our secretary, Miss Ann does an incredible job keeping it running smoothly. Frequent and steady late arrivals make it difficult for us to get the lunch counts in to the kitchen staff and to get the day off and running. Additionally, the frequent and continuous early dismissals are a major disruption in your child's school day. Classrooms, especially K-2, begin getting students ready for dismissal around 3pm. Please try to avoid an early dismissal after 2:45. If you have a true emergency and need your child dismissed between 2:45 and 3:00, please call the main office directly prior to arriving at school. We completely understand that emergencies happen. We also understand that it's almost impossible to make a doctor's appointment after school hours (believe me I know)! We are just asking that you consider whether an early dismissal for your child is absolutely necessary.
IMPORTANT!!! YOUR VOICE MATTERS!
We have only 19 families complete the SurveyWorks family survey so far. Please consider completing this survey. This is a great opportunity to let us know Holliman's areas of strengths and areas of improvement.
SurveyWorks 2024
It's that time of year again! The 2024 SurveyWorks family survey is now open. Please take a few minutes to complete this important survey. This information helps our School Improvement Team create action steps to continue to improve teaching, learning, climate and culture at Holliman!
Just click the button below this message. I thank you for providing us with your honest feedback on our areas of strengths and where we might need to improve.

Indoor Vs. Outdoor Recess
Students need to expend energy; enjoy the fresh air and soak up some vitamin D during their recess,
as often as possible. Unless it is raining, or there would be a danger of allowing outdoor recess, the
students should go outside for recess if the temperature is 32 degrees or above.
RI STATE POLICY 16-21-36. Outdoor recess
No elementary school or private preschool shall permit recess to be held outdoors when the local
temperature falls below thirty-two degrees Fahrenheit (32oF)/ zero degrees Celsius (0oC).
