Good Luck to Our 8th Graders Taking the High School Entrance Exam!
Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic High School entrance exams will take place at the high school of your choice. The entrance exam for the 2020 - 2021 school year will be the HSPT, held on Saturday, December 7, 8:00 a.m. to Noon. Testers should bring two sharpened #2 pencils (no calculators) and a $25 test fee (cash or check made out to the high school). Pre-registration is recommended but not required. Check with the high school of your choice.

OLG Mass & Dinner
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 7,
7:00 p.m.
Volunteers are needed to help on Saturday in the School Hall from Noon-3:00 p.m. or so to set up for the feast following the Mass. It's a great opportunity for eighth graders needing service hours! At the Mass, all children are welcome to join in the rose procession & blessing. Mass will be in English and Spanish. Immediately after Mass, we will serve a traditional Mexican dinner in the Parish Hall. Please be our guests! All are welcome!

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday! Don't forget, all students who attend IN UNIFORM and participate in some aspect of the Mass (serving, ushering, reading, singing with the choir, etc.) will receive a NUT card for a dress down day.
Holy Day Observed
MONDAY, DECEMBER 9
Since the Feast of the Immaculate Conception falls on a Sunday this year, we will observe the Holy Day of Obligation with Masses on Monday, December 9 at 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Last Chance to Order Volleyball Spiritwear
Besse Shirt Lettering has put together an online store for St. Ann Volleyball spirit-wear/fan-wear--men's, women's, and youth sizes and styles. All orders can be placed directly though Besse with the link provided. This online store closes on Sunday, December 8, 2019, but that means that orders should be ready before Christmas. The team bags are now embroidered, and come with the player's name included.

HSA Meeting

Find out about how our first Trivia Night did and get in on the planning for our next events: Family Movie Night, Daddy/Daughter Dance, and Mother/Son Fun! These events are in jeopardy of being canceled without some new volunteer assistance. Help us continue having fun!
Holiday Playgroup Gathering
WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 11, 9:00 a.m. in EXTENDED DAY
All little ones not yet in school are invited to bring their parents and/or caregivers for some pre-Christmas fun! All are welcome to come in pajamas to listen to stories and sing songs presented by the Lansing Library. We will also be decorating holiday cookies.
Christmas Program
WEDNESDAY, DEC. 11, 6:30 p.m. in CHURCH
Our music teacher, Mr. Zachary Jackson, has been working diligently with the students to present a program that will surely put everyone in a Christmas mood! Please have the children wear Sunday best (no jeans; Christmas dresses/sweaters are encouraged), and arrive between 6:00 and 6:15 to sit with their classmates. The show will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m.
Garden Club Winter Break
While the plants are snoozing, Garden Club will take a break. Our last meeting for the winter will be Thursday, December 12, and we will resume in the spring. Thank you so much for sharing your children with Mrs. MacFarlane and Ms. Pozen this fall--we hope they learned and grew!
School Spirit Dress Down Day/ Volleyball Games
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 13
Please join us in a FREE School Spirit Dress Down Day to kick off our first volleyball homestand! All volleyball players may wear their team jerseys, and the rest of the school can wear their new gold spirit shirts, last year's tie dies, or any other St. Ann spirit-wear.
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 14
Our first homestand will take place at our new home court, Trinity Lutheran, 2505 Indiana Avenue, right down the street from the Lansing Library. Please come and support our student athletes: 6th/7th plays@10, 8th plays@11, and 4th/5th plays@Noon. Admission is $2 for adults, $1 for students, and $4 for a family; concessions will be available. Our theme for the weekend is Crazy for Christmas, so we are encouraging everyone to wear crazy sweaters and Christmas colors. The class with the highest attendance will receive free admission to the Homecoming games in January.
Skating Party Stocking Stuffer
The cost of our super fun and always much-anticipated skating parties will be going up in the new year. But you have the chance to pre-purchase your tickets for the next skating party--January 30, 2020--at the old rate of $6 before the end of the year! Watch for an order form next week. You will receive a voucher to put in your students' stockings, and they will automatically receive the Skating Party NUT card when the time comes.
Dress Code Reminders
1. Boots may not be worn during school. If your child wears boots to school, be sure to also send along school shoes for him or her to change into.
2. Hair is to be neat and clean, and no hair coloring of any kind may be used, temporary or permanent.
3. Eyebrows are to be natural. Makeup of any kind is prohibited.
4. On dress down days, yoga pants and leggings are not acceptable for in-school casual wear. Jeans and joggers are fine.

Collect Strack & VanTil Food Market register receipts dated between September 1, 2019 and March 2, 2020 to help St. Ann earn FREE educational rewards! Every classroom has a Collection Envelope, and we will be tallying the value of the receipts turned in. The class that brings in the most will win a prize!
Weekly School Masses
We attend Mass together as a school community most Wednesday mornings in the Church at 9:00 a.m. Please join us any time!
There will be no weekly school mass on December 11, as we will attend instead on Monday, December 9 at 9:00 a.m. in observance of the Immaculate Conception--you are invited, too!
