School Re-Opening Information

School Re-Opening Start Dates

Grades K-1, Ms. Nabors', and Mr. Green's class will start on March 29th. Students in grades 2-5 will start after Spring Break on April 19th. Click on the buttons below to read our School Re-Opening Safety Plans.

Attendance Days/ Cohorts

If you are not sure of your child's attendance cohort, please check with your child's teacher. Children must be present on campus on their cohort attendance days in order to be marked present.

Meals

On-Site Meals:

Breakfast will not be served before school. Each child will receive a meal to eat on-site each day at the beginning of their recess. They will receive a grab-and-go lunch at the end of the day. See the recess schedule above for times.

Important Information

Remote Learning Days (including Friday)

· All students in K-5 will participate in at least 30 minutes of synchronous learning on each remote learning day. Synchronous learning will take place in Google Meet or Zoom.

In-Person Learning Days

· Each student will need to complete at least 20 minutes of asynchronous learning to meet the daily required instructional minutes.

· Breakfast will not be served before school. Students will get a meal at recess and lunch to take home.

· We will not have a bus for general education students.


Re-Opening Parent Meeting

We will hold informational meetings for parents to discuss re-opening plans on Wednesday, March 24th. We will hold a Spanish meeting at 5:30. We will hold an English meeting at 6:30. Links to join will be sent to parents via text message and email.

Save the Date: April 29th Make-Up Picture Day

Make-up picture day is scheduled for April 29th from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. Be on the lookout for ordering information sent in a link via text messages.

School Site Council and the English Learner Advisory Committee

Our next public meeting will be held Thursday, March 25th, 2021. ELAC and School Site Coucil will meet at 6:00 via zoom. Please email Mrs. Comstock at ccomstock@hueneme.org if you would like the link to the meeting. We will be discussing the data to analyze our progress toward goals. The agenda will be posted on the school website and outside of the school office.

Office Hours

Please note that our front office is open to the public between 10:00 - 1:00 PM or by appointment. Beginning March 29th, we will be open to the public from 7:30 to 12:30. The office is open for phone calls from 7:30 to 4:00 Monday through Friday.
