Security Entrance - Office Door
We are thrilled to share some exciting news regarding an important upgrade to our school's security measures. As part of our ongoing commitment to the safety and well-being of our students, we have installed a security door system in the front office.
This new system is designed to provide an additional layer of protection for our children. Security is our top priority, and new system underscores our dedication to creating a safe and nurturing environment for your little ones to learn and thrive.
The importance of a secure elementary school campus cannot be overstated. By implementing advanced security measures, we aim to create a space where students, staff, and parents feel confident that their safety is paramount. This new system enhances access control, ensuring that only authorized personnel can enter the premises, contributing to a secure and controlled environment.
We understand that the safety of your children is a top concern, and we want to assure you that we continuously strive to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to security protocols. We encourage open communication and welcome any feedback or questions you may have about the new security measures.
Our New Classroom Furniture Has Arrived!
La Pluma is excited to share news about our classroom environment! Thanks to the district's continued support and dedication to our school community, we have been able to introduce new and upgraded furniture that is making a positive impact on our students' learning experience.
Our classrooms have all received brand-new desks, chairs, kidney tables, and flexible seating options, creating a dynamic and versatile space for our learners. The students are absolutely delighted with the changes, and we can already see the positive effects on their engagement and enthusiasm for learning.
The new furniture not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of our classrooms but also provides a more comfortable and collaborative learning environment. The flexible seating options allow for greater movement and adaptability, promoting a sense of ownership and choice among the students.
We believe that a well-designed learning space contributes significantly to the overall academic success and well-being of our students. We are confident that these enhancements will foster creativity, collaboration, and a love for learning.
We look forward to seeing the continued positive impact of our upgraded classroom environment on the growth and development of our students.

Student Gates and Entering/Exiting Campus
OUR STUDENTS WILL BE ENTERING AND EXITING CAMPUS FROM 3 DIFFERENT GATES.
Staff will be stationed at each gate in order to prevent bottle necking of students and assist with a safe entrance and exit of campus. Please adhere to the following gate assignments as much as possible. If you have multiple students entering and exiting campus, you may elect to enter campus from one of your gate assignments given. Please let your teacher know on the first day of school if your child will be picking up a younger sibling and you will be entering or exiting from a different gate other than what was assigned.
1st - 3rd GRADE STUDENTS: GATE 1 - MAIN OFFICE ENTRANCE - FRONT PARKING LOT (LA PLUMA DRIVE)
You may either pull curbside for drop-off or park and walk your child to the main gate. Parents may not enter campus but may drop the student off at the gate assigned if you choose to walk your child. There will be staff there to greet you and direct you. You may begin drop off at 7:50AM as supervision is not on campus until this time. The "line up" bell rings at 8:05AM and instruction begins at 8:10AM.
As a reminder, we have designated three pick up station spots for our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students outside of Gate 1, our main gate. If you are walking to pick up your 1st, 2nd or 3rd grade child: 1st grade will wait at the main gate, 2nd grade will wait in front of the MPR and 3rd grade will wait along the grass. If you are pulling curbside, there will be staff there to support you as well.
TK AND KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS: GATE 2 - LA FONDA GATE ENTRANCE NEXT TO THE TK AND KINDERGARTEN PLAYGROUND
You may walk your child to that gate for drop off and pick up. Staff will be there to support your child to their line. It will be the same procedures for pick up. You may begin drop off at 7:50AM as supervision is not on campus until this time. The "line up" bell rings at 8:05AM and instruction begins at 8:10AM.
4TH - 5TH GRADE STUDENTS: GATE 3 - BACK PARKING LOT GATE
You may either pull curbside for drop-off or park and walk your child to the back parking lot gate.
