Parents are the "Guide's on the side." Learn more!

Do you want some ideas of different ways you can engage your child in their educational learning? The key is to ask them to explore engaging questions about their world.

Here is a video about using project based learning at home:

Remember that you are a guide on the side helping your child learn through exploration!

New research has been released from the Lucas Educational Research proving the effectiveness of project based learning. Project based learning provides opportunities for students to learn reading, writing, speaking and listening skills through working together to solve problems.

The press release for the research findings referenced is available to all who are interested:

This research brief will connect you to current research and curriculum ideas for project based learning:

Research briefs for each study are available at

These videos have curriculum ideas for a grade level classroom. To use these ideas in a homeschool model try thinking of how you could teach with project based learning with all of your children in one class. Is there a project your children can work on together even though they are in different grade levels?

This is a big idea! If you would like more information or help implementing project based learning at home, you can email Mrs. Sanders at Happy Learning!!!
