Due to the increase in positive cases of COVID-19 throughout the Madison County School System, all MCSS schools will move to LEVEL 1 of the Ready, Set, Forward Plan effective Friday, August 13th. Masks will be required for all students, staff, and visitors inside all buildings until Friday, September 3, 2021. During this time period, MCSS leadership will reevaluate the level of spread and determine the appropriate level moving forward. MEET THE TEACHER: JORDAN BOATRIGHT
Hello,
I am Coach Boatright. I teach US-11 and Psychology at Buckhorn High School and coach football. I am originally from Lawrenceville, Georgia. I taught and coached previously in the Tampa area (2015-2019) and most recently coached football at the Division II level in Rome, Georgia (2019-2021). I attended Samford University in Homewood (2010-2014), and I am excited to be back in Alabama. I am currently wrapping up an MBA in sport management from Shorter University. Arianna is my lovely wife and we have a daughter named Finley who is now two. We are excited to get settled and start school.

Wow, just wow!!! Our very own amazing art teacher, Ms. Ashton Huffstetler, is a Huntsville Hospital Foundation featured artist. Her phenomenal paintings are displayed at Huntsville Hospital Main! Artwork is available for purchase and a portion of the proceeds will go to Arts in Medicine, a program funded by Huntsville Hospital Foundation and the Lifesaver Club. FEE WAIVER APPLICATION FORMS FOR ELECTIVE CLASS FEES: Students who qualify for Free/Reduced lunches could also qualify to have their elective class fees waived or for the fee to be reduced. Students can pick up a FEE WAIVER APPLICATION FORM in the Main Office. (All elective classes have fees - Choir, Band, Family & Consumer Science, Art, Culinary Arts, Agriscience, Law in Society, Hospitality & Tourism, Event Planning, Child Development, etc). Parent/Guardian must complete the Fee Waiver application form and have students return the form to Mrs. Countess in the Main Office ASAP.

T.O.C. ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Every year the Athlete of the Year campaign, powered by Huntsville Hospital Sports Center,
TOC Sports and D1 Sports, looks for high school senior student athletes who excel
on the field, in the classroom and in our community.
From August to April, a panel of judges selects one Athlete of the Week. Applicants must be a high school senior, have a minimum GPA of 3.5 and display a history of athletic and academic accomplishments, as well as community/civic involvement.
At the end of the school year, all weekly winners are invited to a banquet held in their honor.
Two students are selected as Athletes of the Year and will each receive a $1,000 scholarship.

Sign Up to Round Up!
The Round Up Program was started by The Schools Foundation and Huntsville Utilities to support local public school systems. The Schools Foundation is a funding partner of Madison County Schools. The more residential and commercial locations that round up, the more funding we can receive. Estimates show that if just half of the residential Huntsville Utilities users rounded up, it would generate approximately $500,000 to support our schools! By rounding up your utility bill to the nearest dollar each month, you help invest in the future of our students!

Deputy Rives will begin issuing parking tickets for:
- No parking sticker
- Sticker not in bottom right (passenger side) rear window
- Incorrect Parking
- Parking in a non-student parking space
PARKING INFORMATION:
Students who drive on campus must have a parking sticker on the vehicle they drive on campus. Students must also park in the student parking lots behind the cafeteria & football field or by the baseball field. Students are not allowed to back into a parking spot. Students are also not allowed to park in faculty parking spots or any other spots that are not designated as student parking. Fines will be issued to any student who does not follow these procedures.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Students may come to the MAIN OFFICE to pick up a Vehicle Registration Card (blue card) to complete and get signed by a parent before purchasing a sticker. Students must bring their own COPY of their Driver’s License and Insurance Card (we WILL NOT make copies).
