ECHS General Information
Arrival: Students arrive no later than 6:15. The event starts at 7pm.
Football Field Guidelines - Absolutely No heels allowed on the football field. They will damage the artificial turf. Please wear flat soled shoes. For those parents bringing their own chairs, chair legs must have no holes on the bottom. These will also damage the field.

Graduation Instructions and Frequently Asked Questions
Below is information on ECHS Graduation and Related Questions. We will update this information as the year goes on. For those of you planning on participating in your home high school graduation, Please check your home high school website or Canvas pages for info on home high school graduation information.
This year ECHS and other Beaverton High Schools are planning on having outdoor in-person graduations on football fields. These events will take place rain or shine. Students will be seated on the field and guests will be seated in the stands and some designated places on the field.
Graduation FAQ

Q: Are there any guidelines about dress at graduation
A: Cultural stoles and leis are allowed,. When wearing cultural stoles and leis, they must represent the culture of the student. Please no cultural appropriation.
A: For students and guests on the field - absolutely no heels. They damage the football field
A: Students are allowed to decorate their caps. It must be appropriate content.
Q:What are the guidelines for guests on the field?
A:Guests may bring blankets and chairs (note: chair legs must have NO HOLES on the bottom as they will ruin the field). Individual use of umbrellas are allowed, in case of rain. NO pop up tents, canopies, beach/lawn umbrellas allowed.
Q: ECHS Graduation: Senior Recognition?
A: We recognize several academic awards and accomplishments in our graduation program and during graduation speeches. We have sent a survey to students to provide us information for our graduation program and the deadline for students to respond was June 1st.
Q: Do ECHS students earn cords or other recognitions?
A: Yes, every ECHS student earns a Dual Credit honor cord that they can wear at the ECHS or home high school graduation. Additionally each ECHS student will receive a lawn sign announcing their graduation. Other honors and cords can be earned by ECHS students and we will discussed those during the Senior Meeting in April.
Students can now pick up the following items from the ECHS Offices
- lawn signs starting May 3rd
- Dual credit cords June 1st
- Valedictorian and Salutatorian medallions starting June 1st
- Graduation Medallion provided at the ECHS graduation or picked up from ECHS offices starting June 14th.
Previous Q and A Info
Q: Will tickets be required for the ECHS Graduation Ceremony?
A: No, but we are asking guests to contact ECHS-communications@beaverton.k12.or.us if your group will be larger than 10
A: All seating will be first come first served. There is seating in the stands and there will be "bring your own chair/blanket" seating for guests in the field. If you are bringing a chair they need to be chairs without an open leg or pointed leg at the bottom that could damage the field.
Q: Will I be required to wear a face mask at the ECHS Graduation
A: County safety guidelines do not currently require masks for outdoor events
Q: Can I attend graduation or graduation related events with my home/option school?
A: Yes,
To participate in a home/option school graduation an ECHS students must:
- Meet their HS graduation requirements by the end of their Winter Term or, for BSD students only, submit a progress report one week prior to graduation showing passing of all required classes with a C or higher .
- RSVP with their home/option high school
- Monitor graduation information from their high school and HS deadlines
Q: How does the home-school know we want to attend their graduation events?
A: ECHS students are responsible for monitoring graduation information from their home high school to determine important dates, timelines. We sent students a survey to RSVP for their home/option high school graduation and we have shared that information with home/option high schools.
Q: The plan is for the ECHS graduation to be outside this year. What happens if it rains?
A:Unless there is lightning, the ECHS graduation will take place rain or shine. Students and guests are encouraged to monitor the weather and wear appropriate clothing to graduation and bring an umbrella if the weather calls for rain on 6/13
Q: ECHS Graduation: Senior Speeches?
A: ECHS chooses one to two seniors to give an address during graduation. The speeches are 2 to 3 minutes in length. Students interested in speaking at graduation will have the opportunity to submit a draft of their remarks and there is a committee selection process.
Q: ECHS Graduation: Senior Song?
A: An ECHS tradition is that seniors do not process and recess during graduation to ‘Pomp and Circumstance,’ rather the class votes on a song. Students nominate songs and there is a student voting process in the Spring. All songs need to have lyrics and content appropriate for an all ages event,
Q: Is ECHS graduation similar to the Home School Graduation?
A: Yes, we follow the same format as the typical high school graduation in our partner districts.
Q: Can I attend both home school and ECHS graduation events?
A: Yes, as long as you meet the eligibility requirements for both.
Q: Will the ECHS graduation ceremony be filmed or live-streamed?
A:Yes, the ceremony will be live-streamed over the internet so that those who cannot be physically present can view the event.

For those of you that are planning on participating in your home or cross-enrolled high school graduation ceremony, please make sure that you check their websites for updated information on their plans. ALSO, you should be checking your BSD or TTSD email for graduation updates and deadlines.
Transcripts
Early College can provide only provide unofficial transcripts. Final, official transcripts need to be requested from your home high school, ECHS is not able to provide the final transcript. Please follow the link to find details about ordering your final transcripts. This should be done in June of your senior year. ECHS will provide further details around graduation time.

Cap and Gown Pick-up
- they are ready for pick up in our offices at Rock Creek or Sylvania
If you ordered for your Cap and Gown to be delivered to your home high school
- Please check with your home high school front office for the delivery date
Cap and Gown Ordering Information
Cap and Gown Ordering Information:. The last day to order is April 1st 2022 with a 3 to 4 week delivery. If you have not ordered your cap and gown please contact the vendors below directly and also contact your ECHS counselor
If you are planning on participating in both the Early College and your home high school graduation events:
- You do not need to purchase two sets of robes for ECHS and home school graduation. Order for your home high school and wear that cap and robe to the ECHS ceremony.
If you plan on participating in ECHS Graduation only:

- Scroll down to Cap & Gown and select “Browse All Cap and Gowns” Cap/Gowns/Tassels can be ordered individually.
- The Early College robes are black. We allow our students to wear their home high school colors at our graduation. If you would like to wear your home school colors instead, you will need to order that from: Jostens for BSD and HSD. And Herffjones for TTSD using your high school, instead of Early College as the selected school.
