READ-A-THON
We have extended the Read-a-Thon!! It will be open for one more week through March 6th!- All students who create their personal page select a free prize from the online store.
- All students who get at least one donation (of any amount) get an "I Love Reading" spirit stick for their backpack.
- The top three earning students get a prize basket of Pirate swag and a Barnes & Noble gift card.
- The top earning classroom will get a field trip to the PAC to watch a movie on the morning of March 24 and will take their lunches for a picnic following the show.

Social Studies
This week we will be learning about Reconstructing a Nation! This is about how the Nation came together again after the Civil War, what amendments were added to our constitution, and even the new life in the South now that slaves were free. We will be completing our week 20 newspaper, this includes both the crossword and the timeline activity on the back! At the end of the week there will be a 10 question quiz over the newspaper!
Math
We will finish up Unit 10: Data Representation. Students will work Monday and Tuesday on interrupting, analyzing, and creating their own data. Review will be in their math journals on Wednesday and we will test on Thursday. Please have students study content and vocabulary. We will start reviewing everything we have learned this year on Friday. We are still in Topic 15 in Envision.
Reading
This week in Reading we will review elements of Drama and Poetry. We will work to analyze elements of Drama in out story for this week, "When Girls Ruled Baseball". We will review various types of Poetry throughout the week. We will quiz on Drama & Poetry on Thursday.

Science
This week in science we are continuing to work on Ecosystems and Food Chains! We will be creating a food chain mobile to hang in our hall on different animals that we have picked! We will also be learning about photosynthesis and the carbon cycle, these are both very important to all of our ecosystems, without them we could not live on Earth! On Friday we will have a vocabulary quiz and a quiz on food chains and ecosystems as a check point! Before our test on Friday March 6th! Here are some pictures of what we are doing in Science!
