Scott 6th Grade Center's Motto- "We Enter to Learn and Leave to Achieve"
Welcome Dr. Young
Dr. Young comes to us with many years of experience teaching Spanish. She is grateful for the opportunity to join the Scott community. Dr. Young loves to make crafts of all kinds. She loves exploring bookstores, listening to music and watching movies! Traveling with her son is another one of her most favorite things to do! Welcome to Scott, Dr. Young!
Recess Reward
As part of our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support) Initiative we celebrated with students last Friday. Our Scott students have done a fantastic job of keeping their cell phones off and away! On Friday during Science classes, students spent 20 minutes outside playing games and enjoying their friends. We are very proud of our students' efforts and hope to continue rewarding their choices of Respect, Ownership, Courage, Kindness and Safety. Scott ROCKS!

Benchmark Testing Starts This Week
Over the next few weeks students will be taking their Fall Benchmark testing. These tests do not count toward students' grades, but they are very important. Our staff uses the results of our benchmark tests to plan for instruction, intervention, and enrichment for our students. The Fall benchmarks give us the information of where our students are right now with their ELA and Math skills. We then use this information to show growth when the students take the Winter and Spring benchmarks.
Please remind your students to do their best as they work on their Math and ELA benchmark testing.
Code of Conduct
We have had a great start to the school year at Scott, and I know our students will continue to follow the expectations for the school year. We will continue to review and reinforce rules in classrooms, teams and as a whole school.
The School Board approved our 2023-2024 Code of Conduct. Please click on the link below to read the code of conduct. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

A few reminders for our families:
- Please return Emergency Health Form, if not already done.
- Send a refillable water bottle with your student to keep hydrated.
- Fall allergy season has started. It's a good time to start with daily medication such as Zyrtec or Claritin (please check with your child's doctor for medication advise)
- School does not provide seasonal allergy medication.
- All 6th grade students require a physical. Physicals exams are expected to be completed by the end of winter break.
