Coach's Message
Star's Football Family
Less than 72 hours away from our summer camp kickoff, the countdown is on. The footballs are pumped, and the fields are lined. Our journey together is about to hit high gear! The program is going into quarter 3 of our player development plan. Football becomes the main priority, and preparing for another championship run is the mission. It will be imperative that communication is clear and consistent. More importantly, we need to do our part to consume the information and make our family plan to invest in our program. This past week, I got away and spent time with my family. We loaded up the family truckster and made our way down I75 to Tennessee. There's nothing like 12 hours of the open road and two kids to clear the mind! My kids were great, and I feel blessed to have these special trips with them. Time goes by too fast, and I am entirely aware that their desire to be with Mommy and Daddy is fleeting. Holding onto my daughter's hand is still one of my favorite pastimes. However, I would be lying if this week was all play and no work. As the head football coach, the summer calendar is when we start to switch into in-season mode. My mind never strays too far from the mission, and I always keep a watchful eye on our kids.
I was humbled to see so many North Stars continuing to work at their craft. Multiple players went to college camps to showcase their talents. As an athlete, I can appreciate the vulnerability our kids showing by allowing others to assess their abilities. This type of competitive excellence will help build the Northstar Mentality that will make us winners. In this last off-season newsletter, I will leave you with this. Each year is its journey, and climbing to the top is never easy. It is never a straight path, there will be highs, and there will be lows. It is my job as the leader to earn the trust of every parent, player, and coach in our program to push our level of expectation to the very edge of our capabilities. To be called elite is more a matter of behavior and consistent action than talent. I hope we can all share our mission, vision, and purpose in this 2022 season. It will be one for the record books!
