Alan Turing was born in 1912 and was a British matematician and a computer scientist. In world war 2 he helped the British to break enemies' codes. After the war he worked at the National Physical Laboratory. There he did the first designs of a stored-program computer. In 1948 Alan Turing joined Manchester University and he assisted the developing of the Manchester computers and became interested in mathematical biology. He wrote a paper on chemical basises. In 1952 Turing was prosecuted for homosexuality. Instead of going to prison he agreed on a treatmentof chimical castration. Turing died in 1954 of poison. People said that it was an act of suicide, but his mother and some others didn't agree! Alan Turing left behind a really important machine called the Turing Machine that was like a really old model of a computer.
