8th Graders to Attend Pippin
On Thursday, April 6, the 8th-grade students will be attending the PHSN production of Pippin. We have several Lakeview students in the production, so this is a great opportunity for our students to attend a musical while at the same time supporting their peers. The cost of the show is $5, and students should bring their money to their first-period teacher. All money is due by Monday, April 3. Checks can be made payable to "PHSN Theatre."
If you do not wish for your child to attend the show, please notify the school in writing by either emailing Mrs. Bertke at pamela_bertke@plsd.us or sending in a written note.
No Electronics On During the School Day this Week
Early Dismissals this Week
Today, Ohio State testing began across the district. At Lakeview, today and Wednesday will be testing days for our 7th gradersnd Thursday and Friday, will be testing for our 8th graders. We have two different testing times each day, so your child could be testing during the first block which is approximately 7:30-10:10 or our second block is 10:45-1:18. This does include time for directions and set up, however, it is extremely important that we are made aware of any early dismissals that are planned during the next four days. We can adjust the testing of students if we are aware of these situations ahead of time.
You can either email myself at pamela_bertke@plsd.us or our testing coordinator, at amy_weinrich@plsd.us, or you can send a note in with your child that they bring to the office first thing in the morning. I will be reminding them of this each morning on the announcements.
We greatly appreciate your support the rest of the week. It's important that students get to school on time and start their day with a good breakfast. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions. We want things to go as smoothly as possible, so communication is critical.

May Dance is Coming
May Dance is Coming
It is time to start talking about the May Dance. May Dance is a tradition at the junior high school and is something many students look forward to attending. The date of the dance this year will be May 13, 2017.
There are a few things to consider as students begin to shop for their attire.
The dress code is semi-formal:
1. Suit/tie/bowtie/dress pants
2. Dresses or skirts must be no shorter than finger-tip length when arms are held straight down by the side.
3. All dresses must have straps and appropriate chest coverage
4. No bare midriffs
Anyone not in compliance with the dress code will not be admitted to the dance.
Also, keep in mind that in order to purchase a ticket to attend May Dance, a student must not be assigned an in-school or out-of-school suspension beginning March 1. Additionally, students that have excessive unexcused absences may be ineligible to attend the dance. Contact will be made to students and parents if their child becomes ineligible to attend May Dance.
