Language Arts
This week we have continued to refine the wonderful reading skills we have been developing all year. The students have been reviewing summarization as well as how to compare and contrast 2 related texts. We have also discussed how authors use facts to support their opinions.
As you know, the reading STAAR is coming up soon. We talk to the students about reading each passage carefully for meaning. As they read, they should make notes to show their thinking. When they answer questions they always need to look back at the passage to find text evidence that supports their answer. You can see previous STAAR tests on the TEA website at http://tea.texas.gov/student.assessment/STAAR_Released_Test_Questions/.
Math
We are SO proud of our students' diligence and progress! For the last couple weeks, we have been reviewing all the math skills we have learned this year. All of the Nearpods we have used in class are posted in our Google Classrooms. You are welcome to access these to help your child study. As always, we appreciate all of the support you provide at home.
