Exploring Mindfulness for K-12 Staff
At the open house, you can preview the book we will be using in a free 4-week pilot class and practice group on mindfulness. The first six people to register for the class will get the book for free.

Mindfulness Practices Pilot Group: Open for Registration
The first step in sharing mindfulness with students is teachers adopting the practices themselves and learning how it works from the inside out.
Are you a school K-12 teacher interested in using mindfulness for stress reduction?
We are piloting a beginning mindfulness education and practice group for teachers based on the book: Mindfulness Practices: Cultivating Heart Centered Communities Where Students Focus and Flourish (Creating a Positive Learning Environment Through Mindfulness in Schools) by Christine Mason , Michele M. Rivers Murphy , et al.
What: Mindfulness Education and Practice Group
When: Tuesdays in April, 3 to 4 pm plus Tuesday, May 9th
Where: Online via zoom.
Who: Teachers and School Administrators/Staff
Free. Bonus, the first 6 teachers registered receive a free copy of the book

Collective Trauma: Know Yourself: Stress, Secondary Traumatic Stress, & Moral Injury
This is the last in the series of Collective Trauma trainings from the Community Mental Health Association of Michigan and the Great Lakes (HHS Region 5) Mental Health Technology Transfer Center Network.

Know Yourself: Stress, Secondary Traumatic Stress, & Moral Injury (1 Hour)
While stress impacts all people, secondary traumatic stress/vicarious trauma and moral injury uniquely impact those in the health and human service professions. This session will define and explore the impact of secondary trauma/vicarious trauma and moral injury. Opportunities to mitigate negative impact will be discussed.

April Community Mental Health Authority Trainings
4/18/23: Mental Health First Aid for Adults Trainings
A program that teaches participants to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults. Each training consists of 2.5 hours of pre-work and a one-day virtual or in-person class session. Training is $15 a person and all class materials are included.

4/13, 4/20 QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Trainings
An evidence-based emergency mental health intervention QPR Gatekeeper training is a free, one-hour training. Participants learn to recognize the signs of suicide and the steps to getting a person to help.

5/18/23 Eaton RESA Online Free Youth Mental Health First Aid
Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders in youth. This 6.5-hour training (pre-work plus zoom instruction) gives adults who work with youth the skills they need to reach out and provide initial support to children and adolescents (ages 6-18) who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care. *Please note: Participants will complete 2-hours of self-paced online coursework and then participate in a 4.5-hour instructor led Zoom workshop.
