Dessert Auction News!!
DESSERT AUCTION IS FRIDAY, OCTOBER 6!
It is that time of year again. School has started and the air is getting brisk. That means it is time for the Annual Dessert Auction at Trapper Creek Elementary!
This event is to support our 4th and 5th grade students' trip to Kachemak Bay. As you know, it takes a village to support our students!
We need your help to make this year's dessert auction another successful one.
Here is what we need:
- Desserts to bid on for the auction
- Help setting up
- Help at the bidding table (with one of our school staff members)
- Dinner servers (dinner is buffet style with helpers for scooping/dishing out food)
- Invite your friends and neighbors! The dessert auction is traditionally a community event and we love seeing our neighbors!
If there is any way you can help out, please reach out to Ms. Franklin at; email@example.com or call Mrs. Melissa at 907-733-9451
Spaghetti dinner is being made this year by our very own chef, Mr. Mike (Mr. Mike is married to Mrs. Melissa)! This leaves all our parents lots of time to make desserts or help serve food!
Thank you for your support. The students are super excited!

The Child Find team screens children in areas of communication, gross and fine motor skills, vision, hearing, social/emotional/behavioral, and daily living skills development.
ALICE Drill Success!
Friday, September 29, we did our ALICE Drill OUT!
The whole school practiced what to do during an intruder alert scenario. The students did a perfect job with lining up, following the directions of the adults, walking in a line to our predesignated Safe Place outside of the school, and using their listening skills through out the drill.
We are very proud of our students!
If you would like to view a story the students read before practicing for our ALICE drill, please click the link below. This story will help you understand how we approach the topic of strangers on school grounds, intruders and other scenarios that may require the students to leave the school with their teacher and/or school staff.
Winter is coming!
It's time to pull out that snow gear!
The weather is changing FAST this year. We had our first frost earlier this last week and in no time flat we'll be seeing snow on the ground.
Please start pulling out your students' winter gear and have it ready! Warm coats, snowpants, boots, hats and gloves are must haves! Scarves and face protectors are wonderful bonuses.
Remember, MSBSD students play outside until the temperature reaches -11F. That means we're outside even in 10 DEGREES BELOW ZERO temperatures!
Warm winter gear is a must for our students here at TCE.
Part of their educational enrichment comes from outdoor play. And in Alaska, our kids go outside!
If you are in need of warm winter gear. Please reach out to Mrs. Melissa at 907-733-9451 or firstname.lastname@example.org. We are committed to ensuring every student has proper winter gear.
See you outside!!
