OCE Curriculum Nights

Based on feedback from the parent survey, OCE is bringing a series of Family Academy curriculum night presentations to parents. Mark your calendars for two upcoming presentations at OCE:

  • February 20, 2019, 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. – Building Socio-Emotional Skills in Your Elementary School Child. In this workshop parents will learn how to attend to the socio-emotional development of their child while also setting appropriate limits and following through on consequences.

  • March 13, 2019 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. – Reading is Fundamental! (K-5) Reading is fundamental to function in today’s society and in developing a good self-image. One of the most effective approaches to help a child develop literacy skills is having a home environment that encourages reading in daily life. Parents will learn how to support the development of their child’s literacy at home.

Track Change Forms

If you'd like to request a track change, please use the form found here and return it to the office by Friday, February 15th.

Front Office Needs: Clothing

Did you know that our front office will lend your child a pair of pants or a sweatshirt or whatever they might need after an art room or muddy playground accident at school? No one wants to spend the rest of the day sitting in muddy pants while trying to concentrate on parallelograms! YUCK!

The front office is requesting donations of any unwanted clothing to replenish their supply. Unfortunately, with all the wet weather we've been having, the muddy situation on the playgrounds has created more need. If you have a few items of unwanted clothing at home, please send them in to the front office.

Thank you for your continued generosity and support!

Carnival Committee Interest Meeting

Interested in helping out with Carnival this year? Please come to the Interest Meeting at 1:00 p.m. on January 30th at OCE (Room TBD). If you can't make the meeting and would still like to help or have any questions, please email Kelly ( and Christine (

Save the Date: This year's carnival will be on Friday, May 10th.
