Don't Be a Bully Curriculum is Coming to CRC
On Wednesday 2/6/19 Keith Deltano came to share his knowledge on bullying. Over the next several months our students will dig deeper into how to combat bullying. Below are resources you may use to help implement some of Keith's strategies at home.
Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) is Seeking Feedback
Our mental health partners are seeking input on community mental health priorities as part of the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) 2018-19 Annual Update community planning process. They’re gathering survey data through February 15th.
There are multiple ways to complete the survey:
- Click on this link to complete the web-based survey - https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/P7HBMMX;
- visit http://www.countyofplumas.com/DocumentCenter/View/19618, print, and return a completed paper survey;
- stakeholders may visit any Wellness Center or the Courthouse Annex to fill out the survey.
Intruder Drill
Later this month we will be conducting an A.L.I.C.E. Drill. A.L.I.C.E. (Alert Lockdown Inform Counter Evacuate) is a set of proactive strategies that increase chances of survival during an active shooter event. The purpose of conducting the drill is the same as the other safety drills we regularly conduct. It helps our staff and students be better prepared in the event of an emergency. Our staff participates in specialized training for this type of event and twice a year we schedule a drill so that staff and students can practice and evaluate our current procedures.
In preparation for this drill, teachers will be discussing with students lockdown as well as evacuation procedures. We will have our district safety coordinator on site at the conclusion of the drill to answer questions and provide immediate feedback to the staff and students. You may also want to discuss with your child the purpose of the drill and other safe locations near the school that would be good meeting spots in the event of a real emergency.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
