WEEK OF DECEMBER 4TH-8TH
PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE
Scappoose Students, Families, and Staff,
We are just a few weeks from Finals for the semester, please see the schedule below. There have been some recent happenings in regards to Federal Student Aid and information about J-Term, please read the bulletpoints below:
- J Term schedules are not final until Friday, Dec 22nd and are still subject to change after that depending on credit recovery needs. We will not be doing any schedule changes for J term.
- Federal Student Aid (FSA) on Wednesday announced that the 2024-25 FAFSA will go live by December 31, 2023, meeting the statutory requirement that the form must be available by January 1. Please check the newsletter for the most up to date information.
- On Nov 30th, the counseling office pushed into Senior Civics classes to provide students with an opportunity to sign up for the Oregon Promise Grant. The Oregon Promise is a grant that offers new high school graduates an opportunity to have some or all of their community college tuition covered. We had 70% of our students opt into completing the application as part of their post secondary planning. All students were encouraged to complete it as it is a great option or back up plan for all students. If your student did not complete the application and you would like more information, please visit the Oregon Student Aid website here. The deadline to complete the application is June 1st.
Please reference the links below for upcoming dates and events. Have a great week and thank you for your continued support of our students!
