News from Ms. Moltisanti
October saw a significant decrease in COVID cases at school. I want to thank parents for being proactive and keeping kids at home who are showing signs of illness. As you probably already know, masks are now optional at school. As we are no longer under a mandate, the district is no longer providing us with a supply of masks. Our current supply is dwindling quickly. If you want your child to wear a mask at school, please make sure you provide one from home. Very soon, we will no longer have any to give out.
I want to welcome the following faculty and staff members to our Mintz family:
Marybeth Greenwald - Music
Jim Szewc - 4th Grade
Matt Heinz - PE
Yoselin Ovalles - Student Nutrition
Barbara Gonzalez - Student Nutrition
Carol Fernandez - Student Nutrition
Manuel Lozada - Custodial Crew
Letitia Morris - Custodial Crew
Vincent Rumore - Custodial Crew
We still have several instructional support openings we are looking to hire for including Registration Clerk and Paraprofessional in our PreK class. If you would be interested in applying, you must first have an active application on file with the school district.
We had a lot of fun the last week in October celebrating Red Ribbon Week!
As some cooler weather reaches us, I want to wish all of you a happy upcoming Thanksgiving.
Keeping Children First,
Debbie Moltisanti
Leader In Me: Habit in the Spotlight
Happy Fall!
We are excited to bring you another habit. Habit 4 is: Thin Win-Win. The idea is to treat others the way you want to be treated. When there are disagreements, don't just compromise, come up with a better solution considering everyone's feelings and differences. At school, we celebrate our differences and actually use them for our benefit. We can synergize to come up with ways to make everyone feel valued.
Please see the attached sheet to help you create an Emotional Bank Account at home! You can place it on the refrigerator or another highly visible spot to help your family focus on depositing in each other's EBA. Send us a picture of a way your family has chosen to make "deposits" in your Family Bank Accounts and we'll showcase it on our Morning Show.
You can send pictures to mintz.elementary@hcps.net. We look forward to seeing your families Thinking Win-Win by celebrating our individual differences!
