Methods of preventing soil erosion

-Vegetation: The simplest and most natural way to prevent erosion control is through planting vegetation. Plants establish root systems, which in turn, stabilizes the soil, preventing erosion.

-Mulch/Fertilizer: Applying a layer mulch to the soil top allows the soil to slowly soak up water, protects against rain impact, and restores pH levels.

-Retaining Walls: Retaining walls can be built around the area of erosion to prevent water run off, which leads to further erosion. If used with other methods, this can be very effective.

-Geotextiles: Using geotextiles is an effective method by itself as it stabilizes soil. When used in conjunction with growing vegetation, it is even more effective

No-till farming,Contour farming,Terracing

No-till farming-No-till farming (also called zero tillage or direct drilling) is a way of growing crops or pasture from year to year without disturbing the soil through tillage.

Contour farming-Contour ploughing or contour farming or Contour bunding is the farming practice of plowing and/or planting across a slope following its elevation contour lines.

Terracing-make or form (sloping land) into a number of level flat areas resembling a series of steps.
