HFRCS Newsletter Back-to-School
August 30, 2022 - Vol.2 Issue 1
From the Principal's Office
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The start of the 2022-2023 school year is almost here! Our teachers are working on the finishing touches on their classrooms and the last waxing and polishing are taking place. It is a busy week here at school!
Through our EANS funding we were able to secure Instructional Aides for primary classrooms. These aides are certified teachers or students preparing for teacher certification who currently have at least an Associates degree. They will be assisting our teachers in the classrooms. It is an amazing gift to be able to provide additional instruction assistance in our younger classrooms! You can meet our new instructional aides by reviewing their information in this newsletter. Please join me in welcoming them to Holy Family!
We plan to resume the same protocols for carline drop off and pick up that we have used the past two years. Originally designed to meet COVID protocols, we found that the process is much safer and efficient that the previous method. We have even done a few internal tweaks that we hope will enhance our dismissal. So, please continue to use your carline number for afternoon dismissal.
For our first day for students in grades 1-8, September 7, we invite our school families to join us by gathering at the field fence after morning arrival while our students, teachers and Pastors meet to pray and bless the backpacks for the new school year! If you plan to stay and are dropping off by car, please go through the carline and then return to the parking lot to park.
Also, on September 7, we will be having an 11:30 dismissal. All school districts except Bensalem and Council Rock will be providing transportation home that day.
This year we are utilizing a new student information system and will no longer be using My Students Progress. Directions for how to register your account in the new FACTS SIS are included in this newsletter. It is important that you register with the email address that you prefer for receiving school news and information. Once you are registered, you will be able to see your child’s class placement for the school year. Should you have any questions completing your registration, please contact Mrs. Michelle Mangapit, school secretary at: michelle.mangapit@hfrcs.org
Our Home and School Association has been busy working and planning for the new school year. Please see the “A Year at a Glance” information in this newsletter. We are very grateful for the dedication and hard work of our H&S.
Our school building, teachers and Home and School Association are well prepared for a fantastic start to the school year! We look forward to welcoming our students in grades 1-8 on Wednesday and then our youngest learners on Monday, September 12. May we all praise and thank God for the many, many blessings he has bestowed on Holy Family Regional Catholic School!
Sincerely Yours in Christ,
Mrs. Haggerty
The Inside Scoop on our Instructional Aides
Ms. Erin Balcom
Hi! My name is Erin and I will be working with Ms. Weight in second grade! I have worked at Holy Family Regional Catholic School in numerous capacities since 2016. Most recently, I was a long-term substitute in Pre-K 3. I’m a senior at Holy Family University in Philadelphia, majoring in Early Childhood Education. After graduating in May, I hope to teach either Pre-K or Kindergarten.
My hobbies are baking, shopping, and traveling! I love making delicious treats for my family and friends. Target is my favorite store! Out of all the places I have visited, Eastern Tennessee and Walt Disney World are my favorites.
Kids make me laugh the most! You never know what they are going to say. I enjoy connecting with them through conversation and asking questions.

Car Line Procedure
Car line for morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up will remain the same as last year. We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding, especially during the start of the school year.
Car Line Arrival Procedure:
Cars should pull up in front of the Parish Center where you will be greeted by a staff member. Please do not park and bring your child to the front door.
Car Line Dismissal Procedure:
1. Cars will line up in the church parking lot.
2. Each family has a carline number that should be displayed on the front passenger window. Your family number will be the same as last year. New families have been assigned a number.
3. Staff member will record family numbers from right to left using the lanes in the front of the school. Cars will be dismissed individually when students have their seat belts on. Please wait for direction from a staff member before pulling out of your lane.
Here are some reminders at morning car line to help our staff:
- Please have your child(ren) exit by the right passenger side (if possible) so they can safely exit toward the sidewalk.
- Parents should stay in their vehicles at all times. We understand that the first day of school is an exciting time, but please say your goodbyes while waiting in line. We have staff ready to open doors and assist your children out of the car.
- Please have your children ready to go with their belongings (e.g. backpack, water bottles), so they do not leave anything behind.
September 7: Parent Pick-up for Bensalem & Council Rock
Busing will be available for Bristol Township, Neshaminy, and Pennsbury.
