Highlight #1
An idea borrowed from librarian Nikki Robertson, the personal shopper service brings us great delight as well as a challenge here in the Learning Commons! Students complete a Google form answering questions about books, movies, hobbies, and anything else we should know about them. We then match 3-5 books we think will fit that student. Successes are many, but there are always one or two that we strike out with. We then work one-on-one with those students and find them a match.
HIGHLIGHT #2
"So that one kid in my first block class that you gave Unwind to and we didn't know if he would like it read almost all of it over the weekend." -email from Ashley Fouty
(There are 4 books in the series and this student ended up reading them all!)
