Hour of Code is Coming!
I've just signed our school up for the annual Hour of Code event. I will run this "hour" in all Technology classes during the weeks of December 9th and 16th.
Why? Because computer science concepts help nurture creativity and problem-solving skills to prepare students for any future career. Plus, it's fun! I use the resources from code.org to teach basic computer science concepts such as algorithms, looping, conditionals and much more!
We'll work hard in December on coding and continue throughout the year. The tools I like to integrate include: Ozobot, Osmo coding tiles, and Scratch Programming just to name a few.

Library Fun!
Please remember that all books are due back the week after they are checked out. I am happy to renew any book a child would like to have a bit longer.
I would also like to thank our fantastic OPT and the Kuchta family for contributing to Ms. Gabriel's Diverse Library project. She will use the funds collected to include more diverse books in all the classroom libraries and I will mirror this by using Scholastic Dollars and my OPT teacher allowance to pump up the diverse book selections in our library.
