September 5, 2017- First Day of School!

Welcome to our new families and welcome back to our returning families. We are so excited and are looking forward to another great year at CES! Staff will be posted around the building to assist the scholars with finding their classrooms, getting unpacked and ready for our school wide assembly. The classroom teachers will be spending time welcoming your scholars and will not be able to conference with parents. Please email any concerns you have to the classroom teacher. Please label lunchboxes, backpacks, and jackets etc. so if they are lost we can get them back to your scholar. Be sure to ask your star scholar about their first star studded day at CES.

School Buzzer and Visible Visitors Badge.

All visitors must ring the buzzer and identify themselves and state purpose of the visit before a staff member will buzz you into the school. Identification maybe required. Upon entering the building you must report directly to the front office and a secretary will assist you.

Any visitor that leaves our front office must sign in and obtain a visitors badge that is visible by placing the badge on your shirt or jacket. It can't be in your hand or on your pants. At the conclusion of your visit report back to the office to sign out and dispose of your badge. Thank you in advance for collaborating with our school to keep the school community safe each day.

Please Join our Parent Teacher Association (PTA)


This group does so much for all of the scholars, staff and community at Centerville Elementary and will greatly appreciate any parent who joins and volunteers their time. Thanks to the PTA for the wonderful staff luncheon on Friday. It was a nice touch to help staff kick off the school year.

Don't forget the Boo-Hoo breakfast for kindergarten and parents new to CES on Friday September 8 at 9:15 in the cafeteria. This is a great opportunity to meet families and get involved in the PTA.

Back to School Nights

Our Back to School Nights occur over 2 nights to assist with the parking concerns and capacity limits to ensure the safety of all that attend.

Kindergarten Families- Your Back to School Night occurred on August 31st. So you do not need to attend. The kindergarten teachers will not be in attendance.

Teachers will be presenting the same information in both sessions. So you will only need to select one session to attend. If you have multiple scholars select the first teacher and report to that classroom at 6:00. After evening announcements from PTA and administration you can transition to the next session to gather information from that staff member.


September 13th- Grades 1st, 3rd, & 5th

September 14th-Grades 2nd & 4th

The schedule for both evenings

Parents report directly to the classroom

6:00-6:35- First Session in the classroom

6:35-6:55- School Information (watch from the classroom)

6:55- Transition to Session #2

(if needed)


7:00-7:30- Second Session in the classroom

Communication

Our school newsletter is published one time per month. Additional communications are sent through Find out First (FOF). We do not send home paper copies. All newsletters are posted on our webpage just in case you missed the FOF. Please take time to read the information as important dates and school happenings are shared to keep everyone in the loop.
