We are so excited to welcome Thao Do Gwilliam to Oak Hills. Mrs. Do will be the new Oak Hills Principal starting July 1st. Below is a message from Mrs. Do to the Oak Hills Community:
Dear Oak Hills Families,
I am very excited and humbled by the opportunity to serve as your new principal starting in July!
I look forward to partnering with you, staff, and community members to welcome and support your children in every way possible. We are all doing our best to cope with the challenges and stressors of the pandemic and also thrive and adapt to so many changes in our day-to-day routines. Your children have been so resilient, and I cannot wait to meet their smiling faces on Zoom and in person.
To share a little bit about me, I am a fellow Beaverton community member. I reside in central Beaverton with my husband, who is also an educator, our 7-year-old daughter, and my soon to be two-year-old son. They keep me busy, and I love every moment of it.
I have been an educator for 18 years serving across four districts in Oregon as a teacher, coach, and administrator. This year marks my 10th year in administration. I am currently an Assistant Principal at Stoller Middle School.
During the spring and summer, I am eager to connect with Oak Hills staff and join all of you as a guest in your community events and meetings. I also hope to make guest appearances in your child’s classes in person and in CDL.
I promise to model joy, curiosity, and care to every individual child at Oak Hills. I will build trust with them, with you, with staff. Together, we will create a safe, inclusive, fun, and engaging school. I cannot wait to meet all of you!
Mrs. Do will be joining us at school and at PTO meetings in the near future. She is so very eager to get to know our students, staff and our community. Please stay tuned for those dates and times.
On another note, we will have a Hybrid specific meeting for parents and guardians on April 1 from 6pm to 7pm. Here is the zoom link and meeting ID and password:

Please know that all teachers will be preparing students for the Hybrid and the new CDL experience. Attached is the slide deck from the PTO meeting this week that also has information that will be helpful for the Hybrid transition.
Staff will be returning on March 29 to start preparing for Hybrid and school will resume on April 1st. I hope you enjoy your extended Spring break.

Club K After School Zone Update 2020-21
Club K After School Zone has been safely operating under Emergency Licensing throughout the entire pandemic. Our dedicated team of teachers have focused on providing a safe, reliable, and academically supportive environment for students during a time of great uncertainty. As our world begins to regain some aspects of normalcy, we look forward to continued education, engagement, and exploration with the BSD community.
Club K After School Zone is offering “After In-Person Learning Care” on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays - from school dismissal (10:15 am) to 5:30 pm - along with full day care on Wednesdays from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. Club K After School Zone will return to programming at Oak Hills as soon as we meet a minimum of at least 12 students who are registered in order to cover operating costs. Club K shifted to a weekly price point during the pandemic. The weekly price for this programming model is $265/week.

Annual Special Education Parent Resource Fair
If building administrators could please share the information and flyer below in any building newsletters they send out, we'd greatly appreciate it!
The Special Education Department and Special Education Parent Advisory Council are hosting our Annual Special Education Parent Resource Fair on April 27th from 6:00-8:00pm via zoom.
Parents will have a chance to listen to presentations from different non-profit organizations, businesses and more that serve children with disabilities and their families! Parents will also have a chance to ask questions of presenters after their formal presentations.
The fair will include presentations from:
- International Dyslexia Association- Oregon Branch
- Camp Yakety Yak
- Family to Family Resource Center through OHSU
- NWRESD- ECSE
- Paladio Planning-Financial trusts and planning for students
- Specialty Athletics
- Swindell’s Resource Center, and more!
