7th grade supplies list
Dear Parents/Guardians of 7th Grade Students,
The 2020-2021 school year will be a new and challenging adventure for your son or daughter. There will be many new expectations and experiences. Our goal at UAMS is to ensure success for every student. We can only accomplish this with your help. Below are a few items that we would like you to be aware of as we begin our school year together.
There are several requirements for each class, and a list of needed supplies and materials is included with this letter. We ask that each student show up for school on their first assigned day with these materials, ready to go. Students should also be reminded, that if they have a district assigned computer and charger, both should be brought to school on the first day they are in person. Those students who were not assigned a computer will have a device assigned as soon as possible. If purchasing supplies is a financial burden, please contact Ms. Kimberly Jenkins, our Middle School Guidance Counselor, at k.jenkins@upperadams.org before the start of school.
The 7th grade teachers are responsible for approximately 120 pupils. As a result, parents may not hear from the teachers as often as they would like. Teachers will send midterm grades each quarter in addition to report cards, and we will contact you on an as-needed basis. If you have questions or concerns, feel free to call and leave a message with Mrs. Leslie Callahan, our Guidance Secretary, at 677-7191 ext. 2416. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
Students are assigned a locker in the middle school that is equipped with a built-in combination lock. The lockers are very narrow. Please keep locker size in mind when purchasing a book bag. Students may carry a book bag to school and carry it with them throughout the day.
We welcome you and your seventh grade student to the Upper Adams Middle School. Seventh grade will present significant changes for your child. It can be terrifying, wonderful, exciting, scary, challenging and rewarding, ALL AT THE SAME TIME! Please encourage your child to keep up with the academics and to take part in some of the many extracurricular activities that are available. We look forward to meeting your child on either August 26th or August 27th . Enjoy the remainder of your summer!
Sincerely,
