Dorr Families,
Spring is officially here!! Although warmer temperatures would be great, that is not always the case. Please dress students for the weather of that day. Lower temps are still prevalent at lunch recess therefore coats and warm clothing may still be needed. We love to send our students out to play in good weather at recess!
Happy Spring,
Mrs. Seniura

February Student Of The Month
Distinguished Artist
Dorr Elementary has a Distinguished Artist Program in which student artwork is on display like an art gallery for the school year. Each year 9 students are chosen as a Distinguished Artist. The distinguished artist is a student who is responsible in art, shows their creativity and works hard on all projects. Ms. Corcoran chooses 3 to 4 pieces of artwork in which the students followed directions and completed the project adding their creativity. A committee of staff members then votes on the projects to choose the winner.
Congratulations Callie Weber!
In second grade students did a guided drawing of a fox. From there students chose how to finish their drawing. Callie drew a winter scene with two foxes. She used marker, crayon, tempera paint and watercolor paint to create her original work of art. Callie always does her best work in art. She’s very creative and uses her imagination. Callie is very talented but she is always humble and kind to others.
Great job Callie!
3rd Grade Project Turns Halls Into A Magical Place
Sam Hoevenaar from Mrs. Ford's class showed me his project. " It was a really big part of our grade" Sam said. " I picked The Magic Treehouse Lions At Lunchtime. Jack and Annie hid under the Giraffe to escape the lion." He beamed with pride as he explained each piece of his treehouse. Heidi Hubbard, from Mrs. Brohl's class also spoke with me about her Magic Treehouse project. She does a great job of explaining it in the video below. The displays were definitely a great way to brighten our halls and get all the classes to talk about the power of imagination!
