When is the final deadline to order AP exams & request refunds?

The payment deadline for full-year and Fall semester classes is 10/30/23

** DON'T forget: Payment alone does NOT order an AP exam! Students must enroll first in AP Classroom, then pay (see below for all details) **

The final deadline to enroll and pay for AP exams is February 23, 2024---NOTE: there are late fees for full-year/fall semester, so order before 10/30/23!

The FINAL deadline to request refunds is February 23, 2024.

What do I need to do first to make sure my AP exam is ordered and paid?

TWO Things: IF these two things are NOT done then you will not be able to take your AP exam. Payment alone does not mean an exam has been ordered. You must be enrolled in your teacher's AP classroom.

First-- All students MUST make sure they have enrolled in their my AP classroom at http://myap.collegeboard.org. Teachers will provide join codes. For students doing "EXAM ONLY" they must see Ms. Braun in grade level for a special join code. ALL exam only students must pay by 10/30/23 to avoid late fees.

Second--ALL AP students in full-year/first semester classes can pay starting in September for AP exams on the school webstore at https://twhs.conroeisd.net/school/our-campus/school-webstore/.

*Students in Spring classes only can pay now or wait until they start those classes in January. Spring ONLY class payment will open up on January 8th and students will have through February 23rd. Be sure to SELECT the SPRING Box!

AP Testing Payment Information---How do I pay for AP Exams?

AP Registration to pay for exams will start the first week of September ----ALL AP students in full-year/first semester classes can now pay for AP exams on the school webstore at https://twhs.conroeisd.net/school/our-campus/school-webstore/

NOTE: All students MUST make sure they have already enrolled in their my AP classroom at http://myap.collegeboard.org. Teachers will provide join codes. For students doing "EXAM ONLY" they must see Ms. Braun in grade level for a special join code. ALL exam only students must pay by 10/30/22 to avoid late fees.

AP Exam payments can only be completed online using School Cash. Regular exam ordering will begin on September 1, 2023, and end on October 30, 2023. The cost of each exam is $100. For AP Seminar the cost is $148. Exams ordered after October 30, 2023, through February 23, 2024, will incur a late fee according to the schedule below. No exams will be ordered after February 23, 2024. No exceptions. Half year courses offered in the Spring will have different deadlines (See below).

If you order an exam and decide you would like to cancel it prior to February 23, 2024, you will be issued a $40 refund. If you cancel after February 23, 2024, no refund will be issued. For students who qualify for Free & Reduced Lunch, the cost of each exam is $15; however, all late fees still apply.

Fall & Yearlong Classes:

10/31/23 to 11/3/23 $10 late fee

11/4/23 to 11/8/23 $20 late fee

11/9/23 to 2/23/24 $40 late fee

Spring Only semester courses: No late fees (last day to order is 2/23/24). Be sure to select SPRING box for payment. YOU MUST enroll first before payment!

*FINAL deadline for ALL AP exam payments/orders will be 2/23/24(NO EXCEPTIONS)

How do I update my school code or ID under my profile in my AP classroom?

  1. Students will log in at the myap.collegeboard.org website. Please make sure you go to this website and not the general College Board Site. They are not the same, even though students can access some AP information from the general site. Based on my practice with a sample student, they will go to the general site if you do not specifically tell them to go to myap.collegeboard.org.
  2. Once in the system, you will see a screen with their classes that you are enrolled in currently.
  3. In the upper right-hand corner of the dashboard screen, you will click 'My AP Profile'. You may be prompted to enter your password again. A new screen will load.
  4. Click the tab titled 'Registration' on the newly loaded screen.
  5. Look for school code or Student ID----If you are updating school code then select the Woodlands High School. The code is 441471. You may be prompted to save changes. If you need to update school ID then look for Student ID--remember you will put your six-digit school TWHS ID number.

What if my AP class isn't until the spring semester? When do I register/pay?

THIS IS FOR SECOND SEMESTER CLASSES ONLY----For AP students in Spring ONLY semester classes, please make sure to sign into your myap.collegeboard.org account and enroll in your Spring AP class sections or exam only sections (you will be able to join after your first day of class in January). Your teacher will give you the join code, so be sure to check with them if needed. For student's that do NOT already have a College Board account, you will need to go to College Board to create one. Please make sure you only have ONE account, and you must use your legal name when you register. After you have enrolled you will then register and pay for your Spring AP exam on the school webstore (this will open on January 8th) at https://twhs.conroeisd.net/school/our-campus/school-webstore/. The deadline is February 23, 2024. *Be sure to select SPRING box. Will update date as we get closer to date.

NOTE: You can pay for your spring exams in the Fall but please make sure to select the correct exam SPRING button when you pay. You do NOT need a join code to pay now. You will join your course in January--teacher will provide join code.

What if I'm not taking my AP exam?

You MUST notify Ms. Braun in grade level or email her at LBraun@conroeisd.net to let her know that you are NOT taking the exam.

YOU MUST still enroll though in the myapclassroom so you have access to all materials for your AP class.

What if I missed the deadline to pay for my exam?

Exams ordered after October 30, 2023 through February 23, 2024 will incur a late fee according to the schedule below. No exams will be ordered after February 23, 2024. No exceptions. Half year courses offered in the Spring will have different deadlines.

*Please note that payment alone will NOT order your exam. If you paid after the deadline, you must see Ms. Braun, so she can order your exam. Students that were enrolled in AP Classroom but did NOT pay by 10/30 deadline were NOT ordered an exam. YOU MUST SEE MS. BRAUN FOR ANY LATE PAYMENTS!!!!

Fall & Yearlong Classes:

10/31/23 to 11/3/23 $10 late fee

11/4/23 to 11/8/23 $20 late fee

11/9/23 to 2/23/24 $40 late fee

Spring Only semester courses: No late fees (last day to order is 2/23/24)

*FINAL deadline for ALL AP exam payments/orders will be 2/23/24 (NO EXCEPTIONS)

How can I make sure my exam is ordered and paid?

To make sure an exam is ordered, student must be enrolled in the myapclassroom. To check for enrollment, go to the myapclassroom and look for the course. If it's listed then you are good to go. If it's not then you will have to get join code from teacher. There is a deadline!

To check for payment student can go back into schoolcashonline and look under payment history to see which exams have been paid.

How do I request a refund?

If you originally paid for an AP exam, but have either A) transferred schools and no longer attend TWHS -- OR -- B) have decided to NOT take the exam, you may request a refund using the Google Form: https://forms.gle/4KSR67fJULACfneb9

If you have decided to NOT take the AP exam, your refund request will be reviewed and a partial or full refund may be approved. Any refunds will be processed at the end of each month.

Please note: If you have changed your mind and do not plan to take the exam, you MUST email Ms. Braun (LBraun@conroeisd.net) and let her know so she can update your order. You will not be refunded for any exam that has been ordered because you failed to communicate.

The final deadline to request refunds is 2/23/2024.

I have issues with my College Board account--How can I get help?

  • Only have ONE College Board account---can NOT have more than one.
  • If creating new (first) account--be sure to use LEGAL name--if issues go to this link: https://pages.collegeboard.org/account-help
  • Please browse these FAQs to answer your questions about creating or accessing your collegeboard.org account.

How do freshman get to the senior campus on testing day?

If they have a morning exam, parents will need to drop off. Shuttles will then return them back to campus. If it's a PM exam, shuttles will bring them to the senor campus, and parents will pick them up from the senior campus after the exam. Ms. Braun will send out more information via school messenger/AP teachers as we get closer to testing in the Spring.

What is AP Seminar & Research? Why is it more expensive?

AP Seminar is an AP class that we offer on the senior campus for juniors and AP Research is for those seniors that already took Seminar. It is part of the Capstone Program. It requires both a paper exam and portfolio---the price for that exam is $148.

For more information, see counselor.

What is "Exam Only"?

Exam only are for students NOT taking an actual AP class but would like to take the exam as a "self-study". Students do not have access to the classroom and are expected to self study. College board website does provide study materials for students to use. Students wanting to do "exam only" must see Ms. Braun for a special join code by 10/30/23.

What if I drop my AP class?

If you drop an AP class, please contact Ms. Braun in grade level to let her know asap. If not, when teachers update rosters in the myapclassroom, you will be dropped along with your exam. If you choose to still take the exam, after the drop, you must notify Ms. Braun ASAP so she can make you "exam only". If not, exam will be cancelled. You will need to speak to Ms. Braun to see if you qualify for a refund or not.

2024 AP Testing Dates & Locations (some locations may change)

All AP exams will be taken at TWHS Senior campus---shuttles will be provided to freshman (more details later). Ms. Braun will send out a detailed letter to all students as we get closer to testing dates. Freshman taking morning exams will report directly to the senior campus. Shuttles will return all students back to the freshman campus.

*NOTE: Students must arrive at times listed below. College Board will list 8:00 and 12:00 but that is the actual time that we can start the testing section. We start directions 30 minutes before exams, so it is very important that students are on time. They will not be allowed into testing once the exam begins. Testing usually takes around 4 hours when you build in directions & breaks. AP teachers will be able to give more details. Afternoon exams could possibly run late depending on morning exams. ALL STUDENTS MUST ARRIVE AT 7:20 OR 11:30.

*Note: Afternoon exams usually end between 4:30 and 5:30! They can run later if there were any incidents in the AM with those exams.

What if I need testing accommdations?

If you have accommodations at school (through 504 or Special Education) and would like to have accommodations on any College Board exam (AP tests, PSAT, and SAT), you must request those accommodations through College Board - you will not automatically receive them. *Please note that it takes up to 8 weeks for College Board to process these requests. Accommodations must be submitted to College Board for AP tests by January 2024, therefore, please submit any requests no later than December 15, 2023.

Our Lead Counselor, Mrs. Tabor, can help facilitate this process. Please complete the following items and submit them to Mrs. Tabor in the Grade Level Office.
